I'm sure that what he says in public and what he says in the dressing room are 2 very different things. To expect any manager to air an in-depth analysis or criticise his players in front of the cameras is very naive.

That said, I think it's time to move him upstairs and replace him with someone a bit more motivational.

Heard an interview on the World Service involving Patrick Viera. Sounds very level headed. After serving his apprenticeship with the Manchester City franchise, would he be the one to step in, in a similar fashion to Zidane at Real Madrid, when Wenger finally goes?

I REALLY don't want an unproven ex-player. Could be a huge mistake.

Better off with someone a bit more experience.

De Boer, Simeone, Bilic, Pochettino, Hiddink.

West Ham won't let him go after just 1 season, especially considering their moving to a 60k seater, as a manager that's gotta excite him too.

SAF got a squad which was miles worse than yours to win titles, wenger has a better squad and fluffs it year after year. Most managers would be able to perform at least to Wenger's standard given your squad, it's a good one. Personally think you need a younger manager with some fresh thinking.

AW has been a very good manager for you lot, although since the Invincibles (I used to live in London and my neighbours were season ticket holders and if one of the 3 could not make I was lucky to be given use of it and so I saw you at home several times that season) you have lost your way somewhat. I believe part of the problem is due to not having the money to spend as you moved out of Highbury.
However I also have heard that is no longer the case and so I am puzzled as to why the likes of tough, skilful players you had in the invincible have not been replaced. For instance it has taken you years to get decent keeper, and your CBs are looked on as weak as were your midfield and forwards. We are pretty much a crap team and you beat us more often than not, but when we beat or draw with you is when we get physical and frankly your players wilt. I also think physical and mental resilience go together...and so yet another season when you have bottled a title chance and are so far behind Barcelona etc.
Great players are tough to get and integrate into a side, Wenger has my and large shed away from bringing in acknowledged great and expensive players into the club (Ozil is perhaps only now showing his worth,...sort of) preferring young or nearly great players. Spending money does not necessarily bring success but it often helps a lot, plus battlers mentally and physically are needed. AW sides lack this

You've highlighted some good points. Wenger has turned his back on strong, tough physically imposing players, which ironically brought him the most success. They were our key players - Adams, Vieira, Keown etc. They provided a strong core that allowed us to compete with every type of team, and we were never bullied off the park. What Wenger brought is the flair and skill, but without a good foundation, the team will always wilt at any period during the season. Since 2004, every Arsenal team has endured the same fate and this season was no different. If he stays, the very same will happen season after season. To win the Premier league you need to have a balanced team, Chelsea and City were the last two to win the league, and both have a complete blend of skill, flair, strength and toughness. Leicester is top with a well balanced team and look favourites to win it.
