Why you altering the stats to bend them to your argument? you cant just cherry pick half of Rodgers tenure to back an argument. Klopp at Liverpool (all comps) - 45.9% - soo far. Brendan Rodgers at Liverpool 51.20% Arsene Wenger 57.2% Alex Ferguson 59.67
I'm not cherry picking anything. I picked the same two managers managing near enough the same set of players and Klopp comes out on top. A 10 year old could tell you that to make a fair comparison then, as much as is possible, you can only adjust one variable. That variable is the manager. If you're also going to compare entirely different sets of players and introduce that as a second variable then the comparison of managers becomes unfair and worthless. EDIT... what does your second Wenger % and Ferguson % even mean?
Just their overall win percentages in the EPL for comparison. I would say its too early to Judge Klopp yet but soo far he's been 'decent to average'.
Also, don't know where you got these figures from. Wenger's games in his first season in charge P38 W17 D12 L9 F60 A36 W = 44.7% L = 23.7% F = 1.6 per game A = 0.9 per game GD = +0.6 per game
No they dont show he has improved liverpool, the only statistic that matters is the position in the league, liverpool finished 6th last season and are currently in 8th. That is all that matters, that is all you wenger out lot seem to care about, so if wenger ends up with a higher win percentage than last year, but we finish 3rd or 4th why do you want him out? By your own methods he would have improved, all that matter is where you finish in the league, nothing else. So if klopp has a higher win percentage than rodgers, but finished lower in the table you class that as klopp doing a better job?
Eh? You are aware Liverpool are in their current league position partly because of Rodgers' start to the season? Simplistically comparing league position end of last season with now to try and compare Klopp and Rodgers is, again, an entirely unfair comparison that a 10 year old could unpick.
Not sure about that, Klopp took Dortmund from a status from a fallen giant and moved them to a new level where they were seen as a decent threat in europe and domestically. When Pep came along, Bayern had already began systematically dismantling that Dortmund side, signing their best players. His dortmunds record before Klopp joined: 1997–98 10th 1998–99 4th 1999–2000 11th 2000–01 3rd 2001–02 1st 2002–03 3rd 2003–04 6th 2004–05 7th 2005–06 7th 2006–07 9th 2007–08 13th Then when Klopp joined 2008–09 6th 2009–10 5th 2010–11 1st 2011–12 1st 2012–13 2nd 2013–14 2nd 2014–15 7th So it was obviously his final year where he had an absolute mare.
Regardless of league finish. Dortmund are still the second biggest Club in the country. Stadium, infastructure and fanbase puts them at an advantage.
When Rodgers left they were in 8th position, now, after more than twice as many games with Klopp they are in 8th position. Great improvement
Ignore the game in hand... Plus fact he got us to first QF since Rafa in Europe. Rodgers record this season in league P 8 W 3 D 3 L 3 12/24 points 50% of points available 37% win rate Klopp this season in league P 20 W 9 D 5 L 6 32/60 points 53% of points available 45% win ratio To say he hasn't improved us is just plain wrong
I really don't know why a few are deciding to rag on Klopp when hes just joined mid way into a season with a new club, with very few of his own players and in a new country. Give him a bloody chance to imprint his own mark on the club before critising the guy.
Other than Liverpool actually being 10th after the end of game week 8 when Klopp took over, your post is 100% accurate. But don't let facts get in the way of anything.
A further fact for you. Since game week 8 Liverpool have the 5th highest points per game in the league. So with a squad of players assembled by Rodgers... Rodgers got them to 10th by end of gameweek 8. With the same group of players, Klopp has them performing 5th best since then. Put Rodgers' start with Klopp's continuation and you end up with Liverpool currently in 8th with two games in hand to go 7th. PPG since Klopp took over after gameweek 8: Leicester - 2.18 Spurs - 2.05 Arsenal - 1.71 West Ham - 1.67 Liverpool - 1.60 Man CIty - 1.57 Stoke - 1.55 Chelsea - 1.52 Man United - 1.48 WBA - 1.48 Southampton - 1.45 Fact 2 that has become apparent since I looked these figures out: Since Klopp took over, Manchester United and West Brom have been on par with each other.
I can only speak for myself but I am not happy that we missed out on Klopp. It's annoying losing out on an elite manager that would have taken us forward. It was a logical transition, when your existing manager is past his best. No one lasts forever...
