Yes, but Arsenal's injuries from what George Graham called non-contact are becoming a joke. Wenger is still the best man for the job I feel, but the squad depth or lack of is worrying and should have been addressed ages ago bearing in mind the injuries Arsenal players have been sustaining for a few years. Kos last Saturday injured when nowhere near him and Djourou off after 9 mins v Udinese are examples.
No but I think he could 'lose the fans' which could eventually lead to his sacking next Summer.(it all depends on the next few days) Last Season United and Chelsea where un-charactersically poor (United won the league with a mere 80 points). We had a fairly decent run with injuries but were still unable to overtake either of them. We've now lost our best player and team Captain and probably Nasri as well. The team is completely incapable of defending a lead. We're already 5 points off the lead after two games and have to go to old Trafford next. We are three or four top Class signings away from being a quality side. At the moment were no better than Spurs or Liverpool.
Hornet in peace. As a supporter of a club who feel the need to haggle with Stratford Town over compensation for a left back, I don't have much of an idea of what it like for a manager to have a transfer kitty yet be reluctant to spend it. How would Wenger react if told by the board "here is £20m. Spend a minimum of 70% of it on the best centre back you can get, offer him a salary at the top end of our structure, and we will take public responsibility for overspending if he turns out to be a dud"?
