As for away fans for this game, i would predict no more than 100 die-hards, Colchester to Cardiff is a hell of a journey no matter what time of the day you leave.
I witnessed a cracking FA Cup match at Somerton park between Newport Co and West Ham in late 70's Pop Robson scored a wonderful goal for the hammers but were giant killed by the County, with I think Eddie Woods scoring a winner. That was what the FA Cup was then all about; the likes of the great Leeds team getting humbled at Colchester in the early 70's; Man Utd getting done at Bournemouth; man City at Cardiff, Newcastle at Hereford, Arsenal at Wrexham etc FA Cup 3rd day at Ninian was always special. Like all good things, best kept as memories.
