I wish I did, lost a packet on the one that was brought down last weekend.
You shouldnt overlook his runners as he has a very good strike rate. Some seem pretty clueless ahen it comes to jumping but he really does pick up some real bluebloods from the flat. (cue derision from RV)
Cotton Mill certainly has a very good hurdle race in him.

No....don't really ignore any trainers horses tbh.

Try and treat each and every runner on its merits.

Ferguson is relatively new to the game but has done Ok.He has trained 44 winners in the last 3 years at a strike rate of about 27%.

He does maybe lack the skill of others in the placing department,such as running Buthelezi at L'town recently in a G1 on its second start over timber.No doubt he'll get better at that as time progresses.

I can't be having him.

My other favourite trainer. One Miss Emma Lavelle, hasn't had a winner in 2013. Just a little food for thought.

I'm not a big fan of hers at all.

Poor record given the ammo she gets.

Emma Lavelle had a great season last year. It is patently obvious that there is something seriously wrong at that yard. She is going through stable jockeys like its going out of fashion. Most of the runners seem to be ridden by this amateur at the moment.
She has a few good horses but not a powerful string as Bob seems to allude to. The really sad thing about the yard is the number of good looking animals that seem to now be under-achieving, Kentford Grey Lady & Court In Motion being two standouts.
I do hope they turn things round pretty soon as it was a decent source of winners but I will settle for the one Festival winner if it's our boy!

After a little bit of morning research here are some interesting stats for you fellas to mull over;

Emma Lavelle 10 wins from 149 runners
Chris Gordon 8 from 124
Ferdy Murphy 10 from 188
and the most wretched return this season
Jennie Candlish 2 from 141

At the other end of the scale, the best yards for a return;
Harry Fry 15 from 15
John Quinn 15 from 55
Nicky Henderson 100 from 371
Richard Newland 31 from 121
Paul Nicholls 108 from 425
Rebecca Curtis 41 from 170
Keith Reveley 29 from 131
Donald McCain 126 from 584
oh and
John Ferguson 20 from 95

Anyone keen on taking the 4/6 on Fergusons Darley Sun in the novice hurdle at 5.00?

Really should won LTO but for a very strange effort in the saddle from DO'R.

His record in hurdle races is noticeably worse that bumpers & chases - schooling a horse to be a fluent, slick hurdler is clearly not one of the yard's strengths (data courtesy of racing post).

After his successes last year I do think that in lesser races some of Mr Ferguson’s start at quite frankly ridiculously short prices.

Although he’s no Mr Henderson he’s a trainer I like and my regular readers will all know how much I like his Purple Bay and hope that he is ‘Champion Bumper’ bound. Mr Ferguson’s Whispering Gallery is also an intriguing possible runner next week – in all 3 novice hurdles and the ‘World’. The latter was a Group 3 winner on the level and has been an easy winner of both his starts thus far over timber.

It's all about placing horses in races they are capable of winning for me and some of them are dreadful at it. Dr Newland on the other hand seems to be brilliant at finding the right race.
