Does anyone else have real confidence that we can finish 4-6th?

Although very early in the season, the Chelsea game is a huge chance for us to make our mark on the league and set the foundations for a top 4/6 finish. We have no pressure on us to get a result, firstly due to playing on Thursday and again on Saturday and secondly because we would have taken 3 points from our first two games even if we lose, meaning this is effectively a "free" game.

If we were to come out of it with a draw confidence will be up, 4 points from the hardest two fixtures any team in the league would have had so far. A win and our tails would really be up, with Villa at home following we'd have a very good chance to take 7/9 points from our first three fixtures. It would really provide a platform to kick on (very much like last season).

And as i've said, if we lose we still have three points from two very tough games. It's a no lose in a way, I for one can't wait for Saturday's game to arrive!

If we can get a result vs Chelsea then that's two rivals for CL spots. **** who's most likely to get them.

We were least likely, according to the bookies, out of the top 6, to get a top 4 spot, by a mile. We weren't just 7/1 while they were 5/1, we had odds far below the rest.

However, we were only a couple of results away from finishing 3rd. I don't give a **** who's signed who, lets see how the season goes. All I'm saying is, the top 2 is certain, Chelsea look definitely the more likely to finish 3rd, but a season can take it's toll.

Maybe the teams above us will get pre-occupied with CL football, which leaves the door open for us. We don't need any players that the bookies will cream themselves over and put us odds up to finish top 4, but all we need is to sign a single player for a couple of positions, and we can really do it, we can!

On paper we're far weaker than the other sides to other people, but that's because they don't rate our fringe players and they don't take the time to look at our team properly. They just see Ba and Cisse and them carrying us.

Plus it's more than just having loads of good players, it's about the team, and we were a great team last season, plus we had quality to win matches. We may not have Eden Hazards and David Silvas, but we have a good team.

I think Chelsea are going to be very tough. The bastards have gone and done what we all knew they needed to, added youth/pace to their experienced players! We have a steel about us though and I hope we show up and give them a game regardless of result. Its a big opportunity to lay down a marker for the rest of the season. We need to show we can compete.

The more I look at what AVB is doing at Spurs the more I think we have a chance for pushing higher up. He seems to be taking the team apart but not replacing any of them. which can only be good for us

Same with Arsenal, they aren't the force the used to be. Teams don't fear them any more.

Chelsea are always going to be tough to beat, but I think we've got what it takes to beat them. A good all round bunch of guys playing as a team with great team spirit.
