The BBC and TalkSport are besides themselves that Scotland could be crashing out of the Women's World Cup, and I have to confess that I really couldn't give less of a fcuk if I tried. I couldn't give a fcuk about the men's Scotland team, so the women's version has got absolutely no chance. Does anyone actually care about women's football? The media is really pushing it, but I put it in the same bracket as darts and indoor bowls.
Nope doesn't interest me, standard is absolutely terrible. Hoping to get my football fix over the summer by trying to catch a few of the young lions at the U21 EURO's. Very good batch of players in the squad with Prem experience - Gunn, Wan-Bissaka, Foden, Maddison, Sessegnon, Calvert-Lewin plus others. Not forgetting the likes of Mount and Abraham who've done well in the Championship and Nelson who had a good early spell in Germany but faded as the season went on. All in all a good team being taken out to Italy, could well be in with a chance of winning it - although that's probably my "famous last words" moment.
It's not as bad as terrible at all, some of it is not too bad. I don't like being told I should like it though. The BBC are rightly giving it coverage but have gone way too ****ing far Forcing it down people's throats just has the opposite effect. It's ok, nothing more. Against the world cup cricket and US Open golf it has zero chance. It's like Mrs Browns Boys up against something that's actually funny.
Darts is an essential part of our Xmas viewing. I like to think that, when I’m brown bread, my son will watch the darts at Xmas and remember his pissed up old man shouting ONE HUUUUUNDRED AND EEEEEEEIGHTY. I’ve tried to watch female football but it’s a bit dull.
Can definitely relate to that. Don’t watch darts any other time of the year but over the Christmas period it’s a must watch for the fam.
Essential Xmas viewing in my household, the Mrs doesn’t understand why. I am planning to go this Xmas as it looks like a craic but I am sure you actually see **** all of the darts.
England just won the WC didn’t they? Well done girls, for achieving what the overpaid prima-Donna ****er blokes have been ****ing up for decades.
Women are slower, weaker and smaller than men on average which means their sports are different to watch, but I think the skill level is close to men's, particularly in the more established sports like tennis. I actually think women's tennis is more interesting to watch than men's where the power makes points too short except on clay.
Some of the women can be skillfull etc, but the goalkeepers just make it a complete joke. Get a shot on target and it's a goal. Additionally the difference in the top teams to those below is a massive cliff. That Thailand team that got humiliated are like watching Tottenham in the champions league final, they just arent good enough to be there.
