That's not true. We at United have already employeed an 'independant panel' to oversee the charges.

Suarez is in line for a lifetime ban.

Stop whining. You come on the Liverpool board looking for things to be offended by, dont blame us if you see the occasional comment that makes you angry.

tip of thee iceberg, most fixing is unprovable.

I'd say there is a decent chance Clutterbug places large bets on results, probably how he got out of hole he was in, probably how he got in it in the first place.

There's suspicion and evidence in some cases but to the above I say smoke-fire.

I am still awaiting one big club to be done for fixing or FFP.

The ItIs dug their own grave not Europol for them and besides, AC were forgiven and allowed back into the CL ffs.

So, how come all the clubs with the big money, essentially the ones most likely to use money to influence results, have not been even remotely tarnished, across Europe not just the UK? Is it because they are all clean? Not likely.

The whole FFP and Fixing is effort if very similar in selectivity to the FA's anti-racism action, targeting the minor issues, or in this case clubs\players\leagues, to give the impression something is actually being done.

Here are Debrecen's results that season:
    http://www.uefa.com/uefachampionsleague/season=2010/clubs/club=52958/matches/index.html

Funnily enough, they conceded 4 goals every game apart from ours. I do remember how useless we were that year though.

And here is the keeper in question:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vukašin_Poleksić

Note, he has been involved before:

"On 24 June 2010 he was banned from all football activities until 30 June 2012 for failing to report an attempted match fixing. Investigations showed these attempts failed, and the offers had been rejected by Poleksić,[1] however UEFA rules state all players and officials must report any match fixing attempt.[2] On 5 May 2011 the Court of Arbitration for Sport rejected the appeal and upheld UEFA decision"

Nothing I see on here makes me angry. I don't get angry about football, it's a game.

Quite a lot of what I see makes me laugh. Particularly the anger.

Why would I get angry about football? I don't understand why anyone would get angry about football. There's some pretty terrible **** that goes on in the world. I get angry about a lot of things but football isn't one of them.

    Juventus not big enough?

Surely he couldn't make it that obvious - many of those shots were straight at him, and didn't the defenders clear a couple of shots off the line after the keeper palmed them back into play? The commentary indicates he only made five saves, which were either comfortable or from long shots, and one of those saves was the one he batted back to Kuyt to allow him to score.

So he had to let 3 in, but he had no idea how many chances we were going to get in the game or if his defenders were going to have a great game on the night.
Bottom line, we won, they lost and the alleged match fixing that night had nothing to do with LFC.

Until its officially stated by Europol that this is the match in question feel free to speculate further.<ok>

    Thanks.

I think it was all Liverpools fault and they should get a lifetime ban from football based on all these solid facts.

Pretty much - match fixing isn't a science by any means, and it's usually a pay by results game as a result. The last thing the fixers want is scrutiny, so they won't force the issue with the players too much to avoid making it look suspicious.

Didn't Grobelaar admit once making a save by accident when he'd been offered a bribe of £125,000 to throw the match? The Debrecen keeper may well have figured that the ones he fumbled would have been stuck into the net rather than being missed or cleared on the line.
