Going to firmly put my tin hat on here and say I hope he doesn't go. Seen enough in him to think there's a player in there - seems to be lacking confidence.

Of course, it doesn;t help that our fans get on his back when one of his fellow players (who everyone rates) takes a ball off you and it ends up in the net and all fans blame Dobson! Had a poor season this season (not alon in that) but looked OK at times last season. He's certainly no worse than Power who seems to avoid all flak on twitter etc. yet Dobson, who is only 23 and made a big step up to play for us, gets stick from all angles.

    Apparently Walsall are interested

Like you say he's no worse than Power but there must be a reason that 2 managers in PP and LJ haven't had much faith in him but saying that I think there's only a handful of players I wouldn't want to get rid of and he isn't on that list

last time out he actually looked a more confident player, i also think he has the makings of a decent player but as you say, seems shot of confidence...one thing for sure is him and power do not make a good team.

that said, i would not be against a move, may be best for both parties as we 'might' get a more confident/useful replacement.

And therein lies the problem, we have too many players who look just ok in this league which really isn't anywhere near good enough for us in this ****ing awful league. Get rid of the ones we can, especially if it means we can get players better suited to however Johnson wants us playing in the squad instead.
Too many of our midfielders do the exact same job, none do it better than the other.

If we let him go we'd be down to only one CM who can both tackle and win headers, O'Nien is the other and he's out injured. My preference would be to keep him, build his confidence and stop playing him alongside another defensive minded midfielder.

Personally I'd play him as a holding midfielder, let him look after defensive duties and play two attacking CMs ahead of him.

Depends who we've got lined up it's not like we couldn't do better. Decent player with a bit of potential though imo.

Hmm, I suppose he will be more likely to get a move than Grigg or Graham... but those are who we want to leave..

I think he's very poor personally. Would welcome the move.

Not sure he's good enough for what we need tbh as I've not seen anything to suggest he could make the step up to the Champo and he does seem to give the ball away a lot. If we swap him for better, not a problem.

Yes. At this level. None of them are superstars. If a decent deal comes along and there is a suitable replacement.

    So long. Farewell.

Happy for him to go as he has not done anything to convince me he is going to kick on and make that spot his own. He certainly tries hard but hasn't quite got it for me

it was stated he wants away, not that we are forcing him, safe then to assume the standard here expected of him is too high for him, i suggest he will prefer playing in a team where the expectation is not that high

Personally think he's one of the worst players we've ever had at the club. I'd carry him on my back to his next club.

He’s the worst of a bad bunch of central midfielders, hopefully he won’t be the last on his way, the entire central midfield needs replacing

Can't pass, can't tackle (he's a walking card), gets caught out positionally, no pace, offers nothing going forward.
All my own opinion of course.

Dobson, Power, Scowen, O'Brian and Maguire can all leave for me, just like Grigg, Graham and Wyke they are all mid table league one players if that, we must get shot of them all asp., they are obstacles to progress imo., and as has been said before, get better, it should not be too difficult a task.

Very well said mate, you defiantly know your football stuff, and very well informed on the academy, just wish the club had listened to your recommendations rather than getting rid, youngster we got rid of are playing well in other divisions. There is also a player or two out on loan we don't want ,whose contracts are up, so yet more dosh released, Baldwin comes to mind
