Hopefully a sign that we will see some new players coming through the door very soon. Otherwise the pre-match entertainment may include a competition for fans to start the game
All the out of contract players are officially unemployed from tomorrow so we may see movement on that today
I've never thought he was as bad as some of our fans have tried to make out. I'm not saying he's a world beater, but imo he's a player who needs confidence, and to be playing in a settled side that's playing reasonably well. He's never had that with the complete turmoil we've been in recent times. Sometimes,as fans,we need to recognise that not all these players are wired the same way.....some need a lot of tlc to get the best out of them, and I think he may be one of those. Having said that, I'm glad he's going as it frees up a place for improvement and we're not in a position to carry passengers.
He got more chance to establish himself than Ethan Robson, who I thought had more potential its only opinion of course but I watch their progress with interest, may they like SAFC, learn and prosper.
Same here really, I think he's a decent player who had a dodgy run and lost a bit of confidence which he didn't get back despite his best efforts. Chances are Johnson would have known how to coach it into him but it wasn't to be so good luck to him. The Wimbledon (was it?) fans loved him when he was on loan there so he can't be that bad. Just another decent player who didn't work out at Sunderland for one reason or another.
Our awesome fans gave him little opportunity. To the point he got blamespd by some for other players mistakes! Agree totally. Good luck to the lad. I do think Johnson pulverised got him playing and confident. Look what he did to Wyke and McGeady.
I tend to agree. There is a decent enough player in there and I think he will benefit from some quality coaching. I am just hopeful his going leaves a space for our own young lads. Neil really needs a chance, as does Embleton, and would like to think this means that will happen.
He does absolutely nothing required of a midfielder, imo. He isn’t mobile enough to get about the pitch in a team that wants to press, and he isn’t good enough on the ball to make up for his lack of pace.
Few players seemed to blossom playing alongside Max in mid field, and maybe this had something to do with Dobson's decline, not pointing the finger, but to me they all looked more comfortable playing alongside Grant . The exception being Jack Diamond who combined well with Power down the right, the display at Lincoln being an outstanding example sadly not built upon.
He won't be missed. Few sat near me openly laughing when everything he was trying failed. Sure he's a canny lad but was never going to make it here so best move for both parties. Gives Neil more of a chance but thin on numbers so hope we get quality in quick
i said all along i think he was trying too hard to impress, i think there is a player in there as at times he showed he had an eye for a pass and did not shirk a tackle but was too lightweight imo...shame it did not work for him here but a move is probably best for both parties, good luck to the lad.
Every time this type of thing happens it just reflects on the past recruitment failures at SAFC. I just can't wait for the squad clearout to be finished - however long that is going to take.
