Brighton have done well to get Orlandi and Dobbie, think they both will make their mark on the team, and both deserve the brake with such a good team, wish them both the very best, will be watching out for them, they will team up with painter!..........<cheers>

Great player for us. That Wembley goal still gives me the shivers. Spoke to him after the game and said that as far as I was concerned he was MOM. He was very gracious and chatted with me and my mates for ages. He was pissed as a fart getting off the team bus (most of them were) and I've still got video footage of him singing "Are you watching Cardiff scum" with us.

    Good luck to him. <applause>

Hi guys. I'm a Liverpool fan but live in Brighton so go and watch them every now and then and naturally are my second team.

Seems like you guys rate Dobbie quite highly and Brighton have needed another striker to play alongside Mackail-Smith for a while. What sort of player is he? Does he play on his own or with another striker? Is he a target man type or someone that runs in behind?

Also what are your views on Orlandi? Is he a winger or a player that plays out wide but cuts in a lot? Think both players should fit in as Brighton play possession football in a similar way to Swansea have done for the last few years so it shouldn't be a massive culture shock for them.

Dobbie has played as an out and out front man but in recent times we used him as an AM just in behind the striker. Well capable of having a pop at goal and does so frequently but has an eye for a killer pass too. Check out the video on Page 1 of this thread. Worth 4 mins of your time. Limited opportunities at Prem level as Rodgers didn't rate him and it looks like Laudrup also thinks he's not up to this level so we have to accept that.

Orlandi is a bit of an enigma and divides opinion here because he never seemed to fulfil his potential. A very talented player who I believe started his career out wide but was mainly used in a central role with us. Not really a finisher but a cultured player who can pass the ball well so will fit right in.

Two good buys for you and I'll be surprised if they don't do really well.

Nice summary, Knack. I think they'll both prove to be a big asset to Brighton providing Poyet gives them games and the time to gel. They never got that with us.

Seems like rate both players quite highly then. Orlandi came on and set up the 3rd in Brighton's 3-1 win today but Dobbie wasn't in the squad - probably needs time to get match fit.

Hopefully they can help push for promotion - think Swansea v Brighton would be a good game with the way both clubs play.

Also just to say there has been a bit of friction between the Liverpool & Swansea fans over last month or so what with BR and Allen transfers but on the whole seem a good set of fans and I know we had a good thread up last year when both sides met so hopefully can move on from it. You guys seem happy with your new manager & players and we are happy with BR & Allen so everyone wins <ok>

The reason why dobbie wasn't in the team was because he was ineligible to play as the transfer wasn't completed before 12pm, the same for us with Pablo
