" Smug, the next time you and your missus have rampant sex on the couch it would be a good idea to draw the curtains, the whole street was laughing at you yesterday "

" Well the joke's on them because I wasn't even at home yesterday "

Myself as a Southerner living up here in the North East (7 years now)-an outsider looking in so to speak, and from my perspective - I honestly cannot see any differences in the people in this region - I sincerely think the whole North East is class, I'm content to live up here and also pleased & proud to have friends in both the North /South of the Tyne&Wear area- ...but for the life of me- I cannot understand some of the vitriolic comments and hatred that comes from both - Sunderland and Newcastle supporters - it just not necessary you're all the same in essence you're North Easterners! (fair do's friendly banter and piss taking is understandable and can be laugh) but at the end of the day, your all good people - it's a shame that some blinkered supporters don't see it that way .

Even if you're from the South Para, you'll have experienced some hatred somewhere along the road. Plymouth/Exeter, Southampton/Portsmouth, Tottenham/arsenal, villa/Brum, manchester, Liverpool, wherever you may be, people will always despise their neighbour on the football front. Personally, I don't like sunderland because I'm black and white, but I can draw the line at hatred. I don't necessarily judge a person on the colour of their stripes, I'm sure many of your fans are the same. I agree though, some of the "banter" on here is pathetic at times.

On the derby front, there's Hartlepool and Darlington. Now they really hate eachother.

I'm not sure why football fans would hate each other. I certainly don't hate our brethren down the way or anybody from anywhere else for that matter. I take people as I find them as individuals. There will be people in life you like, people you dislike, people you love, people you hate. All part and parcel but choosing such emotions based on a persons football team, is frankly just silly. I wish Sunderland all the worst in terms of what they achieve, will poke fun at them and their fans at every given opportunity but thats as far as it goes for me. I take a pretty liberal view of all kinds of banter, I don't mind much what folk say within reason. Some I find funny, some I find not funny, very little I find offensive. When people take offense over family or incest jokes I really don't understand it. It all seems so wet to me, "yo momma" jokes etc are as old as the hills.

To be honest, it's the "I've shagged your mother/go and shag your sister" etc that I find pathetic and infantile. I would have thought when people see stuff like that being written, it puts people off posting. Still, each to their own. I might be in the minority.

I don't think you are Somb, many have commented they don't like it and have complained about it from both sides. Personally it doesn't really bother me at all, I find it no or less boring/pathetic/infantile than the 0-3, 5-1, 1-9 debates that inevitably rage and drone on and on and on. Or the name calling which starts and descends into "I bet your a fat ginger cnut" or "nowt but a keyboard warrior" or "I'll meet you for a fight at such and such", its all pretty pathetic but it is the very nature of most internet forums at some time or other. Hence I don't really care and have even made the odd comment of that nature myself. There has never been a time in the history of this forum or BBC606 where it hasn't been the case. Largely it end up coming down to who posters have found middle ground in the past. Take Billy over there, he offends a lot of people, I get on quite well with him though not agreeing with all his views. However there are folk who say "ah but Billy's harmless" yet would condemn mother/sister/incest jokes to be completely unacceptable. There are some very warped and selective morals on internet forums! Some even make their own incest jokes or have done in the past, or tell folk to drop dead, hang themself etc but now want to find moral high ground when it suits. Its pretty comical. All these things would put someone somewhere off posting. The constant search for some forum utopia baffles me. Basically as long as there is some actual decent debate that surrounds all the bollocks I don't mind.

With any luck SAFC will already be relegated by the time of the return fixture. I heard from someone ITK that they're about to lose Wickham.

I reckon Wickham would be a great signing and a big success here. I have always liked him and for a 21 yr old there massive potential if you can harness it and sort his attitude out (which seems a bit Billy Big Bollocks). I'd be happy to risk him being our striker signing though I think Short and Poyet would be loathe to allow such a transfer after the Colback scenario.

Infantile and immature, the vernacular used by boring bastards

If that stuff puts someone off posting, they should be in a little box underground where nobody can talk to them. We have an ignore function on this website, boring "mature" twits please use it!

The genuine pathetic comments of this world are harmful political ideology driven views and death threats, things we consider a crime in society.
