I still think our midfield looks better than it did last season (I remember the game away at Marseille in particular where our midfield was shocking) but it is still the weakest area of our team.
mid- see what I just said. Defence- seen some good play from the defence at times tonight and a couple of really good tackles but they still allowed a spurs team with no on form strikers to get 12 yes twelve shots on target and 8 off target. Keeper- Yes all goalies make mistakes but name me one that every game so far this season has made a howler, it was just luck that he got away with them tonight. I think he will prob become a good goalie ( got him in fantasy league) but whilst he is suffering with confidence other teams will be encouraged to have a go at you more. Why worry? well as I said it is enough to make any sensible fan worry but in your case ignorance is bliss.
The majority of those shots were nothing more than speculative efforts, not even half chances, that Man Utd restricted them too.
Spurs may of had 20 shots but shooting from all over the place hardly counts. It was clearly the spurs tactics to shoot from long range and it failed, miserably.
Don't know the stats for that (do you) but I certainly remember seeing a few from inside the box, so that argument is going nowhere.
Why the hell are we even talking about manU? This thread is about LFC and the problems that we are setting for other teams. If you want to talk about another team - go elsewhere!
They had one clear cut chance when they hit the bar after De Gea didn't deal with a cross, other than that there were really no worrying moments for Man Utd's defence, no other clear cut chances for Spurs.
Theres little or no point of having 20 shots when 18 of them are off target and the keeper saves the other two.
The whole point is that utd defence allowed spurs to get 12 shots on target, a better strikeforce would have scored.
Good point. Unless your striker force can't hit a bulls arse with a bulldozer, a strike force is generally expected to hit the net with 1/6 of its shots on target and thats a minimum, so Spurs should have scored twice. I find it rather unacceptable that they had 12 shots on target and didn't hit the net with any of them.
I dont think we will be competing for the title next year, but i think we will get a lot more points and alot more respect next season. I expect to see us finish top 4. With Coates, Sterling and Suso becoming players well known by other fans and not just our own. Also think we will have an extra stirker next year who is going to make an impact for us
