I live in ireland and study part time as well as having a full time job so though I would love nothing more than to go to every game, sadly I cant, but hopefully that will change once I graduate!

As I don't live in the North East atm or have lots of funds I go to 2-3 games a season right now. This season I have been to Leeds, will probably go to another away game near here (one of the Lancashire games), and will go to the home game on 2nd Jan as I'll be in Toon! But that's why I love forums like this - enables me to feel really part of the fans and the team despite not living in Newcastle atm (looking to move back soon)

Naturally, I attend whenever I can get to games of course. Unfortunately it's not as regular as I'd like it to be, but it's definitely not for the want of trying.

There are a few season ticket holders on here who work away from home but still retain their tickets. There are some who've moved away, but pull out all the stops to get to as many games as possible. Some people support the team just because of who we are, but the effort made by so many people to get to games is admirable. :emoticon-0148-yes:

I'd say I'm borderline, probably around 6 games a season. I work roughly two out of three saturdays and on my saturdays off I split it between either working at St James or supporting Blyth Spartans (unless neither are at home of course).

Only time I've ever actually paid at St James was when Blyth Spartans played Newcastle Reserves there in the Northumbria Seniors Cup. My dad isn't interested in football one bit so as a child I never had anyone to take me to matches, I got my stewarding job in my teens so I figure I'd rather get paid whilst still enjoying 50% of the matchday experience. <ok>

If you're a steward at SJP do you work in the same stand each game, or do they send you anywhere in the ground?

They're kept in the same stand, we have the same steward who was on the turnstile in the 1994/1995 season.

Always remember because he used to chat to us every game as I was only very young then. Still noticed him there at the last game against Blackburn 2 weeks ago.
