I assume you are not talking cockney slang here Cottager, that would be expensive. Gone are the days when you could get the bus to the pictures, followed by a pint n fish n chips on the way home, with the intermittent Woodbine and still have change from 5 bob, or as we started 1 crown / 25p. Everyone wore a hat and waved white handkerchiefs at the football matches too. I'm not quite of that vintage but do remember rattles painted in the team colours, and seeing one fly to the back of the stand when a wayward shot hit it full on, much to the surprise of its owner and the lad at the back that it hit.
If we were ever to see that at a football ground again then you'd have to say it would be at Fulham !
Craving - No one Fulhamish should ever lose their mojo! But I know what you mean - even this normally "glass half full" fan has felt a bit subdued recently. Still, we all seem to be getting through the Coping Cycle quickly now. So we leave the angry people to vent their spleen. Things past are done; we can all chew over who is more responsible. But now we have a chance to rebuild and maybe come back for another blast in the Prem. No doubt, over the coming weeks, we'll all have chance to highlight our PL best memories, best goals, best away trips, chants, laughs etc. Now to start thinking about some trips for next season - I got to all my targeted Prem grounds while we've been here (except Newcastle), so Blackpool, Reading (never got there) etc all beckon. But then again, winning away at Man City could be the start of ....... No, not a second time..... But we can dream. C O Y W !!!
I still believe but I am not shouting as my missus had enough with my mood swings... Obviously not a Fulhamish type...
I still believe we could, but I don't believe we will. Maybe a good win on Saturday will bring my optimism back, but I don't see it happening somehow.
