I think he's one of those who says he has a "soft spot" for all the North East clubs, so his being a former trainee at the Mags shouldn't really make too much difference.

What will make a difference I fear, is that the Mags have European football and we don't.

Whereas as I'd be happy to take him in Syd, I just can't see it. I can't see the club breaking their policies on wage structure. It would certainly not be welcomed by supporters as I think we'd all see it as a backward step. We are not in a desperate situation so don't need to be gambling with our future. If he wants to come in and fit into our structure in terms of wages and fighting for his place then all good but I wouldn't want us deviating from the path we're on for any player. That said he is a cracking player for all his defensive issues and I'm welcome him aboard on our terms.

He will want to help Billy, that's all, and he will make no judgements of you. Tomorrow is the first day of the rest of your life!

PS Him being a Newcastle supporter will have little bearing unless he is offered the same deal by all interested clubs which I would think highly unlikely. It'll be down to mainly money, and the role offered/guarantee of playing time. With us he'd have to take a massive wage cut, accept he is not an automatic choice and accept he will get moved around to suit the team.

I think Sunderland is a more realistic move all told. He'd probably have to take a smaller cut, would probably be guaranteed a start on the right where he prefers to operate, and is less likely to get shifted about.

Do players fancy the europa league?, and would they change a team that finished 5th, will Ashley spend big?, i hope Ellis knows that finishing 20 points behind them last season was unthinkable before last season and the fact Norwich and Swansea also finished above us rankles with me we could average 20,000 + per game on Fulham, Norwich, WBA etc so something is wrong somewhere( they are corner shops and we are B & Q ) yet they are more successful and that better change next season.
We need 2 top quality strikers that has to be M O N's priority in the summer, Sess is NOT a striker and has to go back to the right of midfield, and working with Johnson, seb/Colback and Mclean and possibly Moses/Rodellego would be a fantastic 5 man midfield which should be played at home in about 13 home games, plus a defender who can head a ball out of defence!. maybe a formation of 3-2-3-2.

Strangely enough..I actually agree...I think if any London club comes in for him, he will dismiss both North East Clubs without a second thought. (thats indeed if he is forced out the door at City). From what Ive heard of the lad down here from a couple of level headed City fans I work with...he is still very much in the nightlife mode (also very arrogant and cocky I believe) No thanks guys I wouldnt break the bank for him..Mr Larrsons doing just fine for me

This, this and THIS!!! Good luck with it Billy. Everyone is on your side :).

Back on topic. We can't afford him and seemingly, neither can you. He shall trot off to London and that will be that sadly.
