I was only having a bit of fun![]()
But it's embarrasing.
And it's not as if the 5 and the 7 are easy to confuse.
Unlike ME. I am easily confused.
Not to mention failure to read through what I'd typed, (a dangerous failing of mine).![]()
Aye, Chelsea...When I was growing up in the late 70s Liverpool were THE team and because of this I was always a bit of a fan and pretended to be Dalglish when I played football. I always supported Sunderland as well but didnt realise being a fan of 2 teams is not a done thing, until I got a bit older then it was always Sunderland first above anything else.
Liverpool still pull on my heart strings a bit though even now, 40 odd years later. Don't get me wrong, if we ever play Liverpool (unlikely at the moment, I know), I would be 100% behind Sunderland.
Anyone else got a 2nd team, and why?
I’m the same as you with respect to loving Liverpool in the 70s. My first replica strip in a box was only off my back when it was in the wash. But I can take them or leave them but have enjoyed their last two seasons and made up for Henderson who I heard get called worse than ****e in the premier concourse when he was breaking through as a bairn by the “I saw Shack” brigade. After that Bournemouth from when I was at Uni there (saw us win 2 or 3 times 1-0 in between 88-92). I also follow South Shields as I now live here. But my true second team is Alloa who I followed as I had them in a season long sweepstake. I’ve been up to Berwick a few times to see them with a favourite memory of being there for a playoff win. Got talking to a few of their fans in Berwick club as I was on my todd. They were great with me. Went to go in the ground and the same lads were on the speedway way fence leading the “If you ****ing hate the English clap your hands” chant. Made me smile. When I was growing up in the late 70s Liverpool were THE team and because of this I was always a bit of a fan and pretended to be Dalglish when I played football.
