He's busy celebrating his birthday so has been too busy blowing hot air over candles instead of as usual in front of cameras

They are bigger but not by much. Think they'd destroy us if Liverpool wasn't the other end of Stanley park though. They have more pedigree than we do

I hope we don't take this half arsed donkey off your hands for mega bucks as rumoured.

    I think he's absolutely ****.

Koeman is an astute manager. Can't see him being that daft. The silver haired fraudster at Palace would stump up the cash though

When you watch him play, in the big games, he looks a beast of a player but the problem is when you look at his statistics they are not that of a world class player. He does not score many goals and he does not provide that many assists. As an attack minded player this is the reality.

Maybe in a good team he would do better but I do doubt this.

Its a big risk for a top club to spend £30 million+ on a player who has in general under performed over the last couple of years.

We are struggling in the Championship. I know what you mean but currently (which is all that matters) they are much bigger. It all depends on the bigger bit, but given we were talking transfers then in terms of pull we are operating in different worlds at present.

Nevermind history etc, in the eyes of the modern player (and a seemingly ever increasing number of fans) the PL is the be all and end all. I've heard many fans say they would rather be getting spanked in the PL rather than enjoying watching their team any lower down the leagues. Crazy if you ask me as I just go to watch football to enjoy watching my team but that is undoubtedly the way many feel. I think fans have been brainwashed personally by the whole Sky/PL show over the years.

I just think Sissoko would see Everton as a massive step up, not a small one. A manager with a burgeoning reputation, with new financial power, lofty ambitions, spending huge sums, operating in the top league - against a relegated club, struggling to improve for the drop down a division. Even if we do go up, we will need a stabilising period in the division to truly re-establish ourselves.

My thinking. Our issue is creativity and sissoko doesn't offer a killer pass with any regularity, we need clinical not clumbsy. I hope we sell him and spunk big money on a CAM and RW that possess proper technical ability, just feel like I'd take a 20 mill bid for him now

I've felt all along that Sissoko will go towards the end of the window as it sounded like he was a back up signing for a couple of clubs who were perhaps after better players. If those deals don't work out for them then they will turn to Sissoko. I have no doubt he'll go but it could go to the last day. The price will probably depend on who he goes to - i.e. one price for elite clubs and another for everyone else.

And that's supposed to be an adequate excuse not to pay us £35M?

If you want to be classed as a big club now you have to be prepared to spunk 35mill on a donkey from Newcastle. Ask your friends across the park.

If as a lot of you seem to think Sissoko is rubbish, what is your opinion of the rest of the players ?

Not rubbish, as such. He just has the heart of a pea at times. He clearly has the ability................ he seldom shows it on a consistent basis. That is why the fans are turning against him. If a player always gives 100% no matter what then as a fan you can accept some shortcomings. When a player clearly has all of the tools to be a really good player but only 'fancies it' now and again then fans have an issue with that.

As for the rest of the squad......................... Rafa has reshaped to a large degree and we have many new faces. Time will tell as to weather they are any good or not. Most of his buys seem 'proven' at Championship level, but lets wait and see. I'm not looking too hard at the first few results. It will take a little time for things to 'gel'

Other teams have a lot of new players and have gelled already. Getting results. If we don't win tonight we will potentially be 7 points behind some very good teams.

Long way to go, but there's not a lot of excuse for two defeats out of two. Neither Huddersfield (who fielded I think 7 new players?) nor Fulham (who had a similar number of newbies) will be in the PL in a year. You can NUFC to that mini list if we keep playing like this. Doesn't resemble even remotely our start to Championship life 8 years or so ago. Unbeaten in first six, with 5 wins and ONE goal conceded. It set the tone. A defeat tonight and for all the bluff and bluster, it's going to be tough to get close to the top.
