I disagree, as one of the biggest clubs in world we should be trying to win any competition that we're in. Obviously have priorities, and judging by the team he put out last night, Fergie is prioritizing the league. He played a strong XI in the first leg, and hoped the team he put out at home, could make sure they got us into the next round.

We are not 'eurowise' enough, that is the opinion of some. Well we were in the CL final less than a year ago, so that's nonsense if you ask me.

No it's not the CL, but we may aswell try and win it, I don't want it to effect our league form, but it still a trophy, so no harm in trying our best in it:biggrin:

Have you never wondered why UTD do well in the second half of the season?

For me its because we are usually involved in all competitions and the players step up

We always play crap after a break
We need europa for match fitness etc, forget winning it, it keeps the players sharp

I think th elack of competition matches will benefit city

Surely you lot are equipped to challenge for the EL and the league.

The EL doesn't really get interesting until either the final or if you play decent sides in the qtrs or semis otherwise it can be a bit bland to say the least, but saying that there can be great nights too, the 5 4 alaves fiasco. Knocking Barca out on the way, getting Celtic also gave good games to watch.

The major decline of a lot of european teams means theere is just less quality in the EL.
    Teams like
    Bayern
    Deportivo
    Roma
    Fiorentina
    Valencia
    Dortmund
    Leverkusen
    Milan
    Juve
    Sampdoria
    Liverpool
    PSV
    Ajax
    Marseille
    PSG
    Auxere
    ect ect

All these teams used to compete, the pool of teams has shrunk as the money pyramid does its work with all the best players ending up at fewer clubs, now they get snatched before they even get to smaller clubs.

its totally ruining the game and the EL is a prime example of the results, a lack of depth of quality. Just look at the finalists for the last 10 years in the CL mostly the usual suspects, just a coincidence they are high up the money pecking order? Moneyball:)
