I was thinking the same thing myself. We very rarely let slip how much we bid for players let alone managers and to openly chase one individual is very unlike us - and COULD put the others off accepting if they are aware they are second choice. I think its more likely to be clickbait speculation from the press
Once more you are wrong, what I pointed out is that it is one of the many excuses trotted out by the LJ glee club, when things went spectacularly annually wrong between January and the end of the season and not what I believe, which like most things in life is probably somewhere in between, I suspect that LJ had some involvement in transfers, although the Palmer signing is strange almost beyond belief.
Some say he had involvement, that of the zillions he wasted.....but if he did have that involvement then he must have had involvement in sells..... If he didn't have involvement, then he can't be blamed for the waste can he? If he didn't have involvement, then he could only play what was given to him.................................True or false?
I suppose only people inside the club's setup will know for sure, but I personally can't believe that ANY manager (not just LJ) would opt to or even support a decision to sell 3 of his chosen team captains in 2 seasons, along with other key first team players. Acknowledging it as being good business financially is one thing, but it leaves him short on leaders, which can be costly on the pitch - as we've seen. This doesn't just apply to LJ - it applies to any football manager.
It's a stupid argument TBF, as we don't know the entirety.......but cheeses me off that he's accused of wasting money on players, when more money went out than came in...... At the end of the day, with the players he had at his disposal, he wasn't able to manage them to success, ultimately the Premiership..
An argument in this particular case that you started. I have highlighted the most important word in your post and the reason that I believe he was ultimately sacked, he could not manage the players at his disposal and I would wager that much of that problem revolves around loss of respect.
Actually I didn't.. " bcfcredandwhite said: ↑ This article is flawed - it states that Bailsa was the highest paid championship manager. I thought it was Lee Johnson, who had been given more money than anyone in the history of football? Replied by RP "Wasted not given". Followed by my counter comment Along with the zillions he brought into the club And then you butted in.. As been said, we do not know the arrangement at the club....And so my argument stands and you can't have it both ways.. Best leave it there!!
Robbie Fowler has now applied... https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/liverpool-legend-ex-leeds-united-4354222
The longer it goes on the more I think we’re going to be underwhelmed once the announcement is finally made , I hope I’m wrong .
