This is the only thing people hold against LJ just because who is dad is, quite sad really how much people hate the bloke just because of his daddy. He had zillions to spend because of the zillions we made from selling Kodjia, Bryan, Reid, Webster, Flint, Brownhill.
For my twopenneth. I am already committed to next season, I have already renewed, so either would suit me, would prefer Hughton. However some of the lower league cheap options, Not what you were implying though was it? He only brought in Webster, Brownhill and Eisa and lost money on Eisa, all the other were already here. Also he lost money on Eisa.
Rod I really don't care who SL chooses to be our next manager whether it be Hughton, Gerrard, Lowe etc. I'm just happy Junior's been found out, fired and taking up a ball boy position at Watford. Going to AG was/is a habit and one, mainly because of grandchildren, I'm not sure I'll take up again. Probably decide how I feel when crowds finally return to AG.
Yes it was, more money was brought in than was spent, while he was in charge...............Zillions more! (one of RP's fav words) !!
I'm sorry it wasn't, you said "Along with the zillions he brought into the club" I have highlighted the most important word in your statement. Surely it was Ashton who brought that money in?, after all excuse no:-22 in the LJ fan excuse book was his best players were sold, so how could he build a team to get us into the play offs? and lest we forget excuse no:-21 when a player turned out to be not very good, Ashton signs the players, not LJ.
Ok then you can't say he spent zillions either then. so he had the players to use, what he was given.........which way is it? ...can't have it both ways to suit......Fact is, while he was in charge, more zillions went out than came in.....
You are having a go at the wrong person, I never said he spent zillions, somebody else did, I merely pointed out your mistake, like I assume the mistake in your final sentence of your retort.
Yours must be wrong too, if it's all to do with Ashton as you pointed out......like I said...can't have it both ways.....
They really are pushing this guy. https://www.rangersnews.uk/news/bri...uying-into-rangers-boss-steven-gerrard-links/ https://www.footballtransfertavern....mours/glasgow-rangers-gerrard-ibrox-lansdown/ https://www.rangersnews.uk/news/rangers-man-is-billionaires-no-1-target-ahead-of-new-season-report/
Now, the internal review........ An internal review is taking place reflecting on where the club can improve for the 2020/21 campaign with some 'hard discussions to be had'. Only Hull City (19) have gone longer without keeping a clean sheet than Bristol City's 15 games. "I think it comes down to consistency. We set ourselves a target at the start of the season but we've not met the targets," said Holden honestly. https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/bristol-city-hold-internal-review-4350859
The last time we 'bullied' someone into becoming our Manager it went spectacularly wrong very quickly.
If this really who Lansdown wants he is prepaired to pay some serious money and there are many many more better qualified for that kind of money. If i was Chris Hughton i would tell him to go forth.
It's difficult to know how much of what we're hearing has any truth to it in terms of money being bandied about or the serious candidates. Hopefully a decision, and the best one for the interests of the club, will be reached soon.
I wonder if this is some sort of weird smokescreen. The more I read, the less sense it makes to me - it just seems very un-Bristol City, and so does the money being offered. Perhaps it's some bizarre tactic from Ashton to actually pressure Hughton into taking the job before another pops up?
