Gervinho on 70k a week? LOL Yes, that is a socialist wage structure, you have a player like Almunia on 60k a week, just 10k behind a player like Arteta? Ramsey getting 5k less than a world class RB as Sagna? Ramsey on equal pay as Song? The likes of Ramsey, Squilachi, Chamakh, and Gervinho, shouldn't even be getting above 50k. **** ME, Ramsey on 55k, I'm sure it's up to 60-65k a week now. Now we see everything that's wrong with this club. No ****ing wonder Arshavin doesn't want to leave, with wages like that, and no other club willing to equal it, why the **** would he want to go?
A player like RVP should be getting double to triple the amount of players like Arshavin, Gervinho and others. But no so according to the socialist wage structure, which wants to put people on an equal wage bill, or as close as possible. Get the f00k out of here with that rubbish.
Almunia was our #1 for how long? You seem to not get this, but once a contract is made for the duration it can't be changed every 6 months based on current form (or diminished role). Arshavin was one of the best in Euro 2008, and was on great form for club. Also, tell someone in your house to keep the razor blades away from you.
Yes it is, and even Wenger called it so. Would you like to see a full socialist wage structure? With equal pay for everybody? Is that your dream and true definition of a socialist wage structure.
Nothing compared to the Torreses the Carrols and Balotellis of this world. Again, keep away from razor blades.
Every team has players that looked like they could contribute but end up doing nothing. One on 40,000/week is nothing in comparison to some recent signings in other clubs whose wage could hold 4-5 of our 'scrubs'.
Socialism whatever...the point is the reward structure is clearly flawed. Far too often we have ended up paying over the odds for mediocre players. I think part of the problem is bottom up...ie the policy of poaching young players from youth academies with the promise of lucrative contracts has pushed up the wages of older decidedly average first team players. However the main reason why these players were bought in on those salaries is because that's how much our club valued them....so it boils down to a failed transfer policy.
He has no concept of what a contract is. He thinks that we could have signed Arshavin for 80K when he was one of the most talented available players in the market, and then change it to 30K once he didn't turn out to be our own Messi.
In the case of Arshavin, Gervinho, Chamakh it was the amount that would have secured them. They could have opted to stay at their clubs and wait for other offers if we didn't match that. Again, you can't use retrospective knowledge on the value of those players. That's what it took to get them then.
