Lol RVP is simply killing it at united and good for him. Any club that lets a player of such calibre go to a rival has clearly lost touch with reality. I accept he went there to win trophies and boy is he on his way to fulfilling his dream. I really don't know how Wenger sleeps at night seeing a player he nurtured and looked after in his most injury prone time to now banging em in for united.
Also anyone who defends Wenger and the board regarding this decision is a ****ing lunatic. As someone mentioned when you make those kind of decisions you are telling everyone in the world that you are no longer a club willing to compete but you'd just rather bend over and let any club have their wicked way with you if the price is right. That is the Arsneal I currently support. It's not so bad once you accept the reality of the situation rather than denying this is the case.
People who defend the decision, show how out of touch they are, and the low depths they will go to to defend everything this club do. You seriously have to be ****ing stupid to defend such a decision, MAJORLY ****ing stupid.
Simple, keep your best players, and that gives you a much better chance of competing and winning, rather than only fighting for the 4th place invisible trophy. RVP in our team would've most likely made a huge positive difference to our current position. Just look at what he's doing for United with his goals. But sadly, this is Arsenal PLC so that isn't going to happen. It's all about the $$$ now, and the way things currently are, insures the $$$ so why would they want to change things, the greedy socialist ****s that they are.
I can't change ****.... Your talking about a philosophy from within. How do you change the philosophy of greedy shareholders/ owner? The only way Arsenal can prevent this from happening in the future is by tying up players contracts earlier and if they don't sign you sell them on to the highest bidder. If you leave a players contract negotiations till the last minute then we deserve what we get. If the current ethos at Arsenal does not change regarding wages and not replenishing quality for quality then that is a recipie for disaster in the modern climate of football. I don't care how good a manager you are.
But he wanted to leave. Then what do you do? It's all about the $$$ now It has been for a very long time. the greedy socialist ****s that they are Do you know what socialism is?
I didn't insult anyone specifically, ;-). In general though, I stick with what I said. Someone's got to be a big ****ing idiot to defend the sale of RVP to United. RVP fighting for the league, Arsenal fighting for the 4th place invisible trophy, that's all that matters
He wanted to leave, so what? He was under contract, say **** you very much, you're still staying. And I do repeat, the socialists at this club are ruining the club. I don't give a **** what definition of socialism you have, but the socialism at Arsenal is not working and needs to be kicked out ASAP.
Oh, and with Arsenal it's $$$ over football success, in other elite clubs, it is all about the $$$, but not at the expense of regression in terms of football. That's the difference.
And if they don't want to sign early? You can't force a player to stay. If the current ethos at Arsenal does not change regarding wages and not replenishing quality for quality then that is a recipie for disaster in the modern climate of football. There's definitely a problem with wages at Arsenal. Expenditure on this front is increasing at a far faster rate than gross income. With this in mind, would it have been a business mistake to keep RVP, with his £5m wage, just to lose him for free at the end of the season?
I still think we should have kept RVP for another season. I think he would have played to the best of his ability in order to secure a move to a top club next season. Making £21 million means nothing if we miss out on the Champion's League money. RVP is a match winner and I believe we would probably be sitting in 4th, possibly 3rd now if we had him up front. Also, with Cazorla, Wilshere and a coming-of-age Walcott in the team we probably would have scored a lot more during the course of the season and would have improved as a team. It was a disastrous decision and our noses are rubbed in it every week when he plays a blinder for United and secures them win after win. Wenger's comments on how he wants to create a core of English players so they are less likely to leave when they reach their potential is missing the point entirely. The simple fact is that top players want to play with other top players and the mass exodus of our prized assets over the last few years had nothing to do with their nationalities, it had to do with our lack of ambition as a club and the refusal to build a competitive squad that could challenge for trophies. Shame on Wenger and the board for allowing this to happen. Wenger has tried everything apart from investing in top players, he should do that now or **** off. I have had enough of his disrespectful, ignorant attitude to the fans and his nonsensical, contradictory statements regarding transfers. Now is the time to use the money we have or our status as a CL club will be at an end.
Treat.... Deadlines can be set regarding contract negotiations. It pressures players to make a decision and if the are Arsenal for real then they will sign. If they are looking for a better deal elswhere then they won't. 2 years left on any players contract would be my limit for new negotiations. It's not really rocket science it's just that Wenger has these principles (god bless him) which players he has shown faith in are happy to take advantage of. It will continue if he doesn't wise up and people will continue to question if he has his mind on the job/task at hand as he once did.
The definition of socialism I have specifically with Arsenal is to have a pay structure where most people are getting similar wages, or there not being too much of a disproportion in wages, which also happens to be the wet dream of a Marxist-Socialist. If we didn't spend high wages on useless players, it would afford us the ability to pay the high wages the likes of RVP deserve. But because of our stupid socialist policy, our hands are tied. Socialism in wage structure is a FAILURE, not just in football, but in LIFE ITSELF.
One day when golden boy Jack is all grown up and on his way to becoming a legend what's to stop United coming along and snatching him from us? Some fans have this superficial faith in players. I'm not saying jack is not Arsenal through and through but there is nothing we could do if united came along and offered us a wad of cash for the lad. We have placed ourselves in the position as a selling club and that is always dangerous territory for the future.
