You are going round in circles and making yourself look like an utter fool. The OP on this thread was a question btw, not a claim. So you are just repeating your answer. Now, show me the proof by giving me the quote from RVP from 4 years ago.
I'm as cool as a cucumber I'm simply asking Arsenal87 to back up a claim that he made. But instead he wants to make insults and try and change the subject, because he can't back up what he's saying. It's no wonder nobody takes him seriously on here.
The truth is once any of our top players decide winning trophies is more important than grafting for a top four finish every season then we will continue on this path of losing our best players until there are no top players left. only a business model of buying young and selling for cash will remain. It sounds extreme but is it really? How do you change the current philosophy of our club? How do you compete with the amount of cash city united and Chelsea are willing to fork out? How do you prevent the likes of Wilshere joining the any of the above clubs in the future? You have to create a winning mentality in the current squad, in order to do that you have to actually win something, in order to win something you have to have a winning mentality.... You can see our catch 22 here.
The problem with a winning mentality is that it isn't guaranteed by winning a number of games in a row or winning a trophy. In the last five years it hasn't work for Liverpool, Spurs, Portsmouth or Birmingham - especially the last two. The only three teams who have forged anything of a winning mentality have been City, United and Chelsea, who have the finances to sustain that mentality.
Treat there is no problem with a winning mentality because at least you know the players give it 100% every game. I think your reference to Liverpool and Birmingham is irrelevant as they were badly run clubs who were throwing money down the drain. I'm talking about the final ingredient to make Arsenal a top tier club instead of second tier. To achieve this we need the right players and depth in squad. I don't think that's too much to ask considering the great club we are. If you take a step back every season it's impossible to move forward.
