SVt this is classic. This is exactly what the media set out to do. I can never remember is it dystopian or Orwellian. It may be a lack of match activity as well though. Crack open the play off final DVD." It's incredible!...it really is incredible..... "classic commentary.
Its a bit of a schlepp for me - but i think i have the 'honours' (then again i would, wouldnt i !)- and it would give me an excuse to see my boy in Sidcup! . 'Aggressive' is not me- i'm sorry !.
Typical Good idea just about to open a bottle as well, fire is lit in front room glass in hand - forget that Murdoch is trying to create a civil war.
Jeez. The fact that not many threads on this board go past 1/2 pages tells you that YES we do really care! lol It is not a matter of wether we care. It is wether it stimulates debate, interest etc. And 3 pages on a charlton board kind of indicates it works. Suarez is a horrible man, Evra, well, he is French ha. Evra doesn't pull away at all. He isn't exactly out stretching but it's there. Ferdinand, well, he's just a wannabe headline grabber, Evra celebrated a bit OTT but come on, did he really do anything wrong other than fuel the crowd?! The worse offender here is "King Kenny". He sent his lads out in Suarez t-shirts knowing Suarez had admitted some unsavoury actions, he then refused (and still does) accept what Suarez has done. Kenny is a true Englishman, Suarez is foreign. Why hasn't he just pulled Suarez aside and advised him that things in his country may not be accepted here and Anfield has a tremendous history that will not be tarnished by Suarez. His Sky interview just sums up his extremely obnoxious side that seems to have become apparent since his break in managing. Post this thread again when the Terry trial starts! Jeez, now that WILL be a massive media circus!
Erm I can spot a number of factual errors in your post there sarf....but let's give Kenny a break. First of all Evra did withdraw his hand. The way I see it is Evra had extended his hand for every other Liverpool player prior to Suarez but dropped it. In fact if you look on the Liverpool board there's a thread called 'a picture tells a thousand stories' it's very clear what Evra has done in an orchestrated and designed fashion. For balance I wonder if the photo can be put up on this board. The BBC have got this very very wrong and king ken should be applauded for sticking by his player. This is a witch hunt which will end in someone getting very hurt or very sacked. The fa will overreact again and demand that Suarez do Evras washing for a week or something equally as daft.
To balance what? I can't see any pro Evra photo's anywhere here and this site is not part of the BBC! Look this is a problem between RS and Manure so let's not fall out on here about it and let the Premiership 'prima donnas' fight it out between themselves.
I do care about this but probably for the wrong reason. There is a parallel for me with the Terry issue. I am almost incapable of rational thought. I care because I have come to the possibly unreasonable opinion that mr Suarez, who I have never met, is an odious little runt who should be driven out of our game. I have come to the consequential opinion that Liverpool fc and Mr Dalgleish are much less deserving of my respect than they both were (and I held them both in the highest regard). I am therefore guilty of treating this as part of the soap opera that is football rather than as a microcosm of the real issue that it represents. I'm not completely happy with myself for doing so. But that, sadly, is the the world we live in and I'm as guilty as the next guy. Now I'm not belittling the racism issue. It is a cancer that needs to be driven out of society and I say that as a Scottish person who has lived in England for 25 years and has put up with a lot of stuff as banter that I'd rather have lived without. And my problems don't start until I open my mouth so I have the greatest sympathy for people whose problems are more obvious than mine. My real issue with the Suarez thing is that if this had been back in my day and someone has insulted me during a game, we'd have been round the back of the stand after the game and sorted it out. I suspect that may be where Stu is coming from and I have some sympathy. This has just all got way out of hand (if you'll pardon the pun). All concerned with this sorry episode need to catch a grip though, I hate myself for admitting it, I'm with Fergie!
IMO, the media have been fed because both sides FAILED to maintain exemplary conduct at ALL times, regardless of who did what and any provocation.
I thought the BBC were spot on last night by not giving this excuse for a football match top billing. Not often I say that about them...
I said it y'day and I'll say it today after watching the video for what feels like the 1000th time. Suarez aims his hand/body for de gea. Then evra seems to make his arm limp before going to grab it (you'll notice by this time he has passed). A picture tells a thousand stories- including inaccurate ones.
Im not falling out with anyone. I'm just saying posted on the Liverpool site above are photos that indicate a completely different set of events than that of our state sponsored tv network. Sky who have it in for Liverpool and the sun will no doubt fall over themselves to blame Suarez. There should be no bias and fair play in every walk of life. The BBC want to be careful by playing judge,. Tell me why did Evra drop his hand for Suarez and not the 10 other Liverpool players. Cant super put the photos up on here so we can be our own jury.
Absolutely right. They fell over themselves to promote Harry rednapp in what was a shocking display of bias and promotion. I wanted to vomit when they said for god and harry and saint george. Ffs They have left it to Andrew marr and the news programmes to peddle their witch hunt.
Tewks They were right not to give it top billing, not only was it not a good game but as you rightly identify it would fuel a fire that has burned long enough. However the BBC of old would have just mentioned in passing that there was a "bit of an issue regarding the handshakes" and left it at that. We did have the close up analysis which, if the other tales are to be believed, was edited not to show Evra withdrawing his hand. A slight Mancunian bias from an organisation that is desparately trying to keep in with Ferguson not least because they have moved in as neighbours, They didn't grovel that much to QPR! All in all the media has done an excellent job in taking the fact that some of their number have been arrested for paying money to coppers for stories and burying it with a non story. The fourth estate rules - unfortunately
I'm a simple man ( and i'm certainly far from 'agressive' as accused last night) - and i have simple pleasures - so lets try to put my simple views over... I think Suarez and Dalglish are a pair of pillocks. I also think Ferdinand and Evra could both go and treat themselves to some Regaine for the brain. However, I kinda object when Sky spend the WHOLE end of game wind-down interviewing and panel chat talking about a bleedin hand-shake from 2 ponced-up prima donnas. - put the Football highlights on FFS!!. Now, if someone (and i might be simple, but i'm not stupid) wants to portray this as some sort as healing of some sort of racial rift, then fine , i accept that. But, for me , as i said yesterday, there are MUCH more important things going on around the world that need fixing - maybe ask the civilians in Homs right now. If this is a racial thing (and quite obviously it is), then i naturally do not condone racism - but there was racism at football matches 30 years ago (i'm not saying its right) and there will be racism in 30 years time. I just object to the media blowing it out of proportions, because of 1) The importance Football has in our society now and 2) Its easy to report it. One guy didnt want to shake the other guys hand. Ok - then lets persecute him forever for his huge misdemeanour shall we? and turn it into a huge national crisis, fuelled by a balanced media. I've sussed it, maybe we should get President Assad to shake hands with one of the bereaved parents in Homs - that'll make it all better and healed then , wont it ??!! Bring on the Football FFS - roll on Tuesday !
We're the BBC right in coming down so heavily in favour of Harry rednapp? Four long shots of those cheap bEdsheets with 'Harry this' and 'Harry that' although notice that they were in the family stand. Every goal scored was Harry dancing up and down with a heart condition. The fawning stick your tongue down his trousers commentary and the most sickening of all "this is the only man for the job quote" from Hansen, this is not why I pay a licence fee to be told that a spiv with a writing disorder gets the most important job in football.
I would try and assist typical- but using the not606 app in my iPhone doesn't allow me to copy and paste threads I think evra limps his hand when Suarez is going past IMO. He then decides to (whatever his motive) grab suarez. I think the fact Liverpool haven't come out to deny the allegation of Suarez ignoring evra is pretty conclusive. They are probably busy organising club store currency with Suarez replacing the queens head.
The opposite is true. Liverpool are trying to act decently by not coming out and making issues. Bill shankly said the club is always first and Kenny is doing just that. The bbc and it's sister organisation man u have acted shockingly and that red faced alcoholic ferguson should be appalled at his comments if he can remember them. Liverpool FC have got nothing to be ashamed off and the t shirts show an act of defiance in an unfair bias world of the medias creation.
The only positive thing to come out of this is the scottish uncivil war between Ferguson and Dalgliesh, Fergie has his knighthood and has noticed that someone else has been proclaimed king. The next developments?- Pretty soon the marauding clans will be venturing south through Gretna to fight a battle on the line of the Liverpool to Manchester canal, throwing haggis and porridge in brown paper bags to avoid being called vigilantes. Kean and Moyse will be lining up along one flank and there will be cries of "Bannockburn for Suarez" and Evra will be painted blue a la Mel Gibson. This is just a minor issue which is damaging all the good work that has been done by clubs elsewhere to reduce racism. The victor is Mancini, they probably recognise that already and are using the tactics of "my boy has been insulted" to take everyone's eyes off the fact that the Etihad boys could win the league when both Dalgliesh and Ferguson were letting their supporters believe that it was "in the bag" at the beginning of the season. get your excuses in early boys!
