Not suggesting fans should decide rather than the manager, and I agree with the points you make; it's just that I don't think he has performed well - one good headed goal is not great evidence of his quality. Even if players have poor games and don't have much opportunity to impress, there is generally evidence of promise and I haven't seen much. I'm very happy to proved wrong
 
I voted yes. His arrival, enthusiasm and attitude have been a breath of fresh air this season. Given time, his skills and reading of the game will improve and I think he'll become one of our best players.
 
I voted no. Given that our plans courtesy of RvW are to buy 2 wingers and an attacking midfielder this summer, Kamara's role as a wide player will be terminated. Secondly, we have a better striker in RvW and I expect Becchio to play a part next season. I feel really bad for him, came in January and not allowed the time needed to adjust to PL pace or indeed play, because of our diabolically negative tactics and incompetence when it comes to scoring goals, we have been dragged into a relegation dogfight that we should never have been near.

Next season IMO I expect a front two of RvW and Becchio.

You don't score 16 Championship goals by January unless you are bloody good.
 
I think bechio was a panic buy when we didn't get hooper. Can see him leaving in the jan transfer window
On topic, i thought kei did very well yesterday made some good runs and looked to shot a lot

I think Kei is improving. Offers a lot in the air and there are times when we need that, but is starting to get up to pace with the premiership too IMO. I think he could become a useful utility player
 
Maybe the initial euphoria has worn off a little but I think he has played well. He has been asked to step up and hasn't looked out of place. He made the MOTD team of the week yesterday and I think he will improve a lot by playing at this level. I'd offer him a contract. Will he want to sign it though? He has a lot of love for Kansas and Chipotle!
 
I think yesterday was his best game yet. Three excellent shots on target, the scorching volley that McCarthy palmed around the post, the brilliant pacey run at the defense before the left footed shot into the top corner that McCarthy just reached to palm past the post and then the scorching header that McCarthy could only parry. He reminds me a bit of Crouch in that he can look tall and gangley at times, but then pull reflex shots out of nowhere. City wouldn't have won without him yesterday, IMO. There is still room for improvement, but I still think there is potential there. Two more games before a decision has to be made, but I am even more firmly in the yes camp now.
 
Agreed RER, yesterday was his most 'complete' performance in a yellow shirt, but was that because he had another front man to play off? Previously we've seen him as a lone striker and pushed out wide. But playing in a 4-4-2 brought the best out of him - and he'll continue to improve given more game time <ok>
 
He was pretty good yesterday, but I still don't know whether playing well against Championship opposition is good enough. It might be that he's just improving as he gets more game time, or that the opposition helped. If he can play well at Stoke, or in the 2 home games then I'll be more convinced. As an impact sub he might have a role though.

Quite possibly, but that just highlights how difficult it is to judge both him and Holty on this season because the service has been so poor.

Although he had a poor first half, I actually think this was one of Holt's best performances in a long time. For the first 20 mins of the second half (when he actually had service) he was unstoppable - if I recall correctly he had five or six shots, four on target, one of which created the rebound for Bennett to slot in and I thought he was really unlucky to have McCarthy pull off a couple of great saves to deny his headers. That's what Holt gives you when he gets service.
 
Its a No for me. I think Holt is enough of a physical presence if we want to go down that route and RVW is going to be the main man.

The other reason for me is I dont think he is good enough technically. He used his body well and obviously has a serious leap on him but I think the ball controls where he goes rather than KK controlling it and dictating play. I also dont think he is up to standard off the ball. At some points during the Reading game our full back had the ball and Holt and dropped in 20 yards off the Reading defence. KK was stood in the being marked about 30 yards away from where the action was. Holt was screaming at him and with good reason.

I really like KK, he is obviously a great character and has had a positive influence this year but I would like to see future signings push us on - I really do not see him doing that.
 
I think that he will get a contract, due to him playing regularly since he first started a game. Playing both wide against arsenal and upfront in a pair and on his own, so I reckon that's an indication Hughton likes him as a player so reckon he could sign him.
 
I originally voted no, but seeing him on Saturday play his best game for us so far I do think he has something different to offer. He had a couple of good efforts (one could argue that if he got a firmer connection to the first half volley he might have scored) that brought good saves from McCarthy and got into dangerous positions a few times as well as covering an awful lot of ground.

The guy has commitment, flair and with a bit more technique could be a genuine contender.
 
I agree OCF. As for the volley, he had to take an improvised pass over his shoulder and hit it with one movement, which he did very well and it stung McCarthy's hands as he palmed it away. The pacey run after Holt put him through was also impressive as it scared the daylights out of the Reading defense and the shot he then took on the edge of the area was headed for the top corner until McCarthy got a desperate hand to it to turn it around for the corner that lead to the first goal. Finally, he and Holt both had headers that Reading were lucky to keep out. I still think there is a lot more to come from him that we haven't seen yet.
 
I, for one, would be sad to see him go, he's improving week by week as his stamina and match fitness increase, I feel he has a lot to offer, and his off-field enthusiasm is infectious!
