    Rooney is not the answer.

    A decent manager is <ok>

If you can't see that the two things aren't mutually exclusive there's something wrong.

We need a 20-30 goal a season proven CF. We needed that the minute we sold RVP. Was saying that in the summer when UIR was having a bender. And we need a new manager. Rooney affects neither of those tbph.

Getting rid of Chicarito and RVP was the single most stupid thing that LvG ever did. Having them in the squad now, even if they had both only played occasionally earlier in the season, would have guaranteed us at least 4th spot - look at our goal difference compared to the Gooners. Rooney is not the striker he once was, he is unfit, he is ill-disciplined in terms of his positional play and he simply cannot provide the goals we need - so why keep him when there is better talent out there. I would keep him in midfield, but otherwise get rid to China where the £30m we get for him can buy a decent striker.

U21s won again tonight, they now need 2 more points to win the league again.
Van Gaal was there watching and Rooney played for the first 60 mins and Jones played the full 90.
During the first hour they played like the first team slow and pass, pass, pass.
Rooney went off after 80 mins and the game speeded up, on 67 mins we scored with a fast flowing move ending with McNair getting into the box from deep and controlling the ball before placing his shot wide of the keeper.

A few regular players were missing tonight, not sure if it was because of injury or if they have been called into the first team squad.

Maybe they hid when they saw Van Gaal?

I really hope he doesn't start poking his nose/philosophy into the U21s, it would shatter them.
