Do we need more attacking options?

Must say I'm looking forward to seeing Long leading the line this weekend (If Koemen gives him a chance!). Trying to play him out wide has never quite suited him. We'll park the bus and look to hit them on the break with Long in behind.

Even though Pelle is excellent, I'd like to see Long get more of a go here. Here's hoping he takes it with both hands.

NO, NO and NO again. Mane should be doing this so he can run directly at two of Mangala, Otamendi and Demichelis. Long on the bench to be used as an impact sub.

I take your point, but I'd like to see Mane collecting ball deeper and driving through the centre of the midfield with Long ahead of him. Long also offers something in the air which Mane doesn't.

True but Long tends to have more of an impact coming off the bench.

Apart from the Villa game last season. Generally, I feel Long has been better coming off the bench, so it will be interesting to see what Ron does. I certainly wouldn't play Juanmi ahead of Long. I'd consider JWP on the right hand side against City. We may even play a flexible 4-4-1-1

Long & Mane up top together were superb up at Chelsea last season. I'd be more than happy to see that again.

You sure FLT? That probably means either we have another injury up front, or we're behind very late into a game and in need of a goal.

It doesn't "probably mean" either of those things. It may mean we're 4-0 up with 10 to go and Gaston gets a run.

Forgive the pedantry, but you should express that as your belief or opinion rather than what it "probably means" :)

*see other thread :)

Which of those options is more likely in your opinion if we knew that Ramirez was on the pitch though?

Note to self: Distinction between stating 'probably' as an opinion (clear enough as it is open to other options being possible), and 'is going to' as fact (clear enough as it is not open to other options being possible) equate to the same thing for FLT.

I was taking the piss because of your strange decision to correct me on the other thread for not saying "in my opinion"

I seem to have rattled you somehow, somewhere. Very odd.

Note to self: making a post about a player on a football forum must be clearly stated as 'my opinion' rather than as 'a fact' so it is clear for Latviandream.

What's your issue mate?

Genuinely no issue at all FLT, I've always had some good and interesting banter with you mate, and you've always been very concise regards interpretation of other posts and wording similarly in the past (and mostly correctly if my memory serves correctly). Certainly no offence intended. I didn't think it was such a big thing as you have pulled up some good corrections yourself in the past.

Ok, cool then. I just thought it was pretty obvious that it was my opinion that I think Clasie will come good for us.
