i am all for using what what we have already, maybe s payne & rooney will shine through if there is not too much pressure on them to "have" to be an instant star, just enjoy their footy in a team which on paper looks very strong, so lets give em a fair crack of the whip & judge @ the end of the season, you dont learn to swim on dry land! so put em un the water, COME ON U BLUE BOYS
dont get me wrong if those 2 can prove themselves worthy to hess then no need to spend any money, i think rooney is halfway there as long as he can prove he can play as a forward or show he can defend as a winger and for payne he needs to prove he can score goals as unfortunatly he maybe talented but hes not a natural goal scorer yet like the 2 guys we have brought in or players we have brought in in the past. if this mann kid can prove he is a proven goal scorer i'd personally rather have him on the pitch cos atleast he stands more chance of putting his chances away
Think i would give Roon a go up front with kedwell. We will have lots of goals from midfield, so loan out payne and sell oli to Lincoln.
call out old friend hendon and see if a short term loan could be arranged, any ideas who from the west ham ranks!!
Yeah I forgot to add that one, If you go back to the start of this thread I have said if it is a no then comment no and why.
In that case no. We have Oli, Payne, and our leading preseason goal machine Rooney, save the money on a bench warmer and use it to bring in quality if, and when we need it. What decent striker wants to be a league 2 bench warmer?
What has happened to that young kid Miller, highly rated, was wanted by Liverpool and few others, he played last season once, Striker, I see he hasn't got a squad number. WHY>
Yeah but he got a squad number last season, I think in the next few years if he don't go to a much bigger club, he will be one of the best and we should enjoy watching him, just keep him is the key.
Yeah that would be great and if he got a good amount of goals along the road that would make it a sweeter deal.
thought miller was a midfielder?? he was only in the team/playing due to injuries and needing a 7 man bench so he was brought up and brought on more for experince than anything else and prob to advertise him a little.
Regardless of Birchall's injury, I think it would be useful to get a loan striker in. An old one - we could do with an experienced head to guide all the young forwards we've got. And obv if Birchall's injury is bad, then we need someone good to be first choice strike partner to Kedders.
if we do that then we defo will need another striker. for my money oli has looked good preseason. he seems to work quiet well with kedwell upfront and having 2 taller players up there gives us a good option for the emergency hoof that we always seem to revert 2
From what I've seen of Payne he's pretty terrible, however on FIFA11 he's turned into a very good player, quality in the air (however we are in 2013 with Gills in the PL, so I do question the accuracy of this)
Speaking of FIFA did anyone notice in the January update how amazing Joe Martin was! Think he was the best player of the team! Also silv, Andy White was just as good if not better than Payne so you really do have to question the accuracy
Stefan has played literally minutes for the first team and some of you guys are writing him off already. Forwards need confidence.....and that can only be gained with time. If you want five star results, then I'm afraid you're going to have to pay five star money. He may be the deal, he may not, but give the lad some encouragement and support. Support is a two way thing......Oli may well shine, Rooney may shine (or not) but remember this, they're all a lot better than you or I.
