I think that to get the best out of Suarez and Sturridge they have to play side by side. To get the best out of Coutinho he must play central. Our best width comes from full back. 1 option is a diamond midfield. For that to work the DM has to be able to slot in to the back 4 comfortable and the center backs cover full back. If we dont have this the defense gets to exposed when the full backs attack or we have no width. The 2 CM's have to be able to cover box to box and do all the passing magic to. A second option is three center backs. This is just like a diamond mid but on of the midfield roles becomes a CB. This means the full backs can attack with out the DM having the extra back 4 burden. An extra option is a 442 similar to Rafa's in 2005-6 when Gerrard played a free role in the right and moved in to the space behind the strikers and the CM's hold. Coutinho in the free role?
