I just wish one day that i wake up to find that Shaun Harvey has stabbed Ken Bates with a tooth brush! All hell happens and leeds united are forced to sell to a tycoon who grows his own money, while smoking a big fat juicy grizzler made out of 500.00 notes (Only he can use)

West Ham are trying to buy themselves out of the league, but if they don't get promoted this or next and they have spent big money, they'll end up buying a relegation spot. And when does expensive signings mean quality signings. Fernando Torres 50 mil... 1 goal for Chelski, Jermaine Beckford free....10 goals for Everton. Max Gradel, Snoddy, Schmeichel and Becchio were all free or peanuts signing, (Maxi was about £400k wasn't it, now he's worth £4-6m despite Swansea pathetic 1.5 mil).

True, but like I've said elsewhere, all the playoff teams have spent at least £4m over the last two seasons. We've spent £1.2m. Obviously quality costs, especially when you're talking about central midfielders and defenses who win leagues.

Completely true. You can pick up some great signings cheaply, but the club need to spend some cash and bring in a quality centremid, leftback and centreback. It can go the other way as well, free transfers can be much worse value for money. Jack Cork - available for around £750,000 - would be money well spent, whereas a 30 year old, on a free transfer, signed on a 3 year deal isn't.

I seriously hope the rumours of our link with Cork are true. He said somewhere he wanted to sign permanently for Burnley, but if Leeds come knocking I can see a change of heart.

He can play right across the back line too apparently. Just what we need.

I don't see £750k as being over priced either. It's only a little more than Bates has been willing to pay for squad players in the past, and we have more money now than we have had in the past. From what I've heard he'd be our best signing of the season.

McCormack was at least £400k. I'm sure Collins was £500k or that might have been O'Brien. Back when it wouldn't have been prudent to spend millions. If you hate the way Bates is handling your hard earned cash then stop going to games. Stop giving it to him and set an example, instead of moaning about it constantly on here. Moaning just pisses everybody off and noone likes a moaner.

Donald.....100% if we had got a decent DM and CB in Jan i think it would have been different and that has to be our main priority now
plus a LB...we do that and hang on to the rest of the squad and we will be in with a shout!!!

Last season our Chocolate fire guard gave no defence.....we all saw that!!

McCORMACK IS MY NEIGHBOUR so I will ask him when he gets back from is holidays Collins cost no more than £100kI have every right to put constructive criticsm when its deserved just because it doen,t fit into your thinking that doesn,t mean its wrong !!DELIA SMITH SPENT OVER £5M ON PLAYERS AS SHE could see that last year was right for promotion due to the fact that the demoted teams had no money to spend on players Hull Pompey and to some extent Burnley this will not happen this seasonI fear West Ham Brum and Soton along with Forest Leicester Cardiff Hull Burnley READING iPSWICH so a very competitive league

The figures I've heard are 350k for McCormack (source) and 500k for Collins (ouch...source).

Bit harsh! You can stay a Leeds United fan and not think the regime in charge is perfect. Obviously we have to put up with it because he'll never budge but I think his ticket and membership prices are disgraceful and after the summer if the squad hasn't improved, I'll consider him responsible. He says we have to pay Premiership prices if we want Premiership football and then lines his mate's pocket with the money and fleeces the club when he gets into bother in court.

As the campaign is named: Love Leeds, Hate Bates. I'll be less hatey when I see a real ambition to be promoted from Ken.
