Do we have a problem getting over the line?! You damn skippy !!!

The problem is Arteta, he is a coward and a numbskull

Thats way OTT. I don't think Arteta is telling the team to sit back at 1-0 up , or coast for much of the games we've been playing. He looked as angry with the team last night as the fans.

That said - we clearly gave some issues at the club still with mentality.

Just watch Odegaard for Wolves goal last night and it kind of brings it home.

I wrote this article over a year and a half ago, yet these questions still remain...

For me, this season will be definitive. Let's hope for the best.

We've been better than many title winning sides already under Arteta - the issue is Peps City just pipped us to that title in 23/24. There was no collapse - we finished that Season with only won loss in the 2nd half of the Season. (89 pts)

But it's true Arteta and the squad don't know how to win the league yet - but we will be there or thereabouts this year that's for sure.

I still think there's a huge degree of luck needed in some games to win the league, we've fallen foul of injuries and some horrendous VAR decisions over the last few years.

Maybe that game against Wolves was an example of the luck going our way for a change....

I think a lot of it is instruction from the manager, he sets the tone, the captain "should" reinforce it on the pitch. Thats why when people say the of captain is redundant or symbolic, they are chatting **** !!

Tell me why regular as clockwork we score a goal then decide to sit back. We did it at Villa, we did it with Wolves. Mentality comes from the manager Jay and it fits his overly cautious/safety first approach.

The manager gives the players license to play a certain way, there is no way they would be as negative as they can be if not directed by the manager, do you think players like playing sideways passes all game? Don't you think players like to run with the ball and do tricks and express/enjoy themselves?!

The negativity comes from the manager.

We don't. I bet if you look at the stats - Arsenal are of the best sides in Europe at maintaining a lead.

Also look at the UCL we have scored 18 goals in 6 games (conceded only 3). That because teams actually come to attack us - the negativity is not down to Arteta at all. He's fairly pragmatic as a manager but the truth is most sides in the EPL just sit in a low block and don't even try to play against us.

Fundamentaly disagree with this.

Arteta gives the players the instructions, it's then up to them to carry them out on the pitch

There's simply no way he instructed them to sit back and be cautious after scoring against Wolves, which is exactly the reason he was so angry after the game.
