You've probably lost that air of desperation that you had in your youth. That and the higher amounts of disposable income you have now. <ok>

Saw Benny Button for the first time just a few days ago. Interesting stuff. What if the time comes when we can actually reverse time? Does Benny Button become fact? Can we actually kill our grandfather and still be here?

Here's my take on the subject.
The bit about being smoother with the women is simply about being more at ease with yourself, more comfortable, less desperate to impress. It's also about being more mature in the brain department. I also think for those of us who are married, we become so much more confident in the company of women, cocky even, as we know and they know we don't actually need to impress them. This takes a lot of awkwardness out of situations.

But as for being cooler, no. Do not kid yourselves, we really aren't. I was as cool as **** when I was younger, so cool it hurt.
Now I'm turning into Victor Meldrew and the worst part is I can feel it happening. I'm only in my 40's but I knew some time ago it's best to leave cool to the young. It belongs to them, let them enjoy it.

Zinc, George Bernard Shaw rightly said that "Youth is wasted on the young." Cool can be defined as a way of expressing yourself through facial, posture and voice modulation, and is meant to impress your peers, irrespective of age. I don't think "cool" is owned by the young, it's often hyped up by the "glossies" and the media in general, to include those of us with a few years on us. Ala Connery when he was 70. <laugh>
