I remember him giving one away. Can't remember if that's the one he was booked for. It was central too, and stupidly late.

Assuming AW and his caoching staff are intelligent and sensible, there has to be a reason other than sheer stubborn bloody mindedness for the selection decisons we see.

This would therefore tell me that AW has players in his squad who no longer respect him and who AW no longer sees as viable squad players. Take Arshavin, Squilacci - reduced to fringe players, so what on earth are they still doing at Arsenal?

Time and time again we see the same players exhibit the same weaknesses and make the same mistakes. Sagnas crossing, Ramsey poor pass selection and hostpital balls, GK howlers, CB disarray, static forward line.

AW seems to have ended up with a squad that offers him little depth and squant flexibility. Moreover, the palyers are not up to the quality required to play the style that AW wants them to play.

I am sure of AW had a squad of depth and quality we would see more rotation, more competition for places, more of an edge to our play, and better results.

That AW persists with teh same old average and/or under developed players means that he has little choice.

I think his biggest fault is a massive aversion to "risky" transfers in. Risky in his book is spending big on established players. But I hope he has learnted that the bigger, dumber risk is to buy cheap flavour of the month guys from teh French league hoping he will unearth another Petit or Henry.

Chamack, Gervinho have been disasters, so much so that we are unable to get rid of them.

I really hope, that we wil see Arsenal make aggresive bold moves in the transfer market in the summer.

I fear though that we will get the same story from AW - Diaby, Rosicky coming back from injury, blah, blah blah .....
