I can also see this as a possible scenario to secure a huge pay-rise should he sign on. How desperate are we to grab his signature and pay for that privilege.

Out of the two, Sanchez has a wider pool of teams interested in him than Ozil. That's why Sanchez has that laissez faire attitude.

    Personally i would keep Ozil.

    Sell...

Sanchez (this Jan) - I just dont think he WANTS to be here.
    Debuchy
    Coquelin
    Elneny
    Wellbeck
    Akpom

    Sign:

If Sanchez leaves: Thomas Lemar - A creative player who can speed the game up and move with the ball. Wont get the goals Sanchez gets us but keeps the ball better.
Goretska - Tall, strong, creative and covers a lot of ground.
    Koulibali/Van Dijk - A PROPER centreback.

    --------------------------Cech---------------------------
    --------Koscielny----Mustafi----VanDijk-----------
    Bellerin----Goretska-----Xhaka-------Kolasinac
    ----------Ozil-------Lacazette-----Lemar-----------

Ozil is a very good player but when you spin facts to make them more impressive than they really are then you lost credibility:

Assists in the same amount of time (since KDB joined City):
Kevin de Bruyne (Man City) 35
    Mesut Ozil (Arsenal) 32
    Christian Eriksen (Tottenham) 30
    Luis Suarez (Barcelona) 30
    Neymar (Barcelona and PSG) 29
    Lionel Messi (Barcelona) 29
    Angel di Maria (PSG) 27

There is only three premier league players in that list. Spinning?

Yes spinning. AFCTW's statement distorts facts to make out Ozil is the best creator in the league. He isn't. But still damn good at what he does.

I didn't spin anything, I just stated a fact. The stat i put was talking about Ozil (from an Ozil article) and so used his time in the league. The stat you've gone with is since De Bruyne joined City (an article focusing on De Bruyne) and is for the European leagues instead of the prem. they are just two different sets of parameters for assists stats. And either way make Ozil look really good.

the idea that somehow loses me credibility is nonsense. Bore off.

Surely that depends on the time period being looked at? Getting your knickers in a twist for no reason. Both stats are correct.

Your stat is correct... but unfair given the insinuation that Ozil gets the most assists in the league when he doesn't. You've had to give Ozil a two year head start to get him up above De Bruyne. Therefore the credibility you lose makes the attempt to big up Ozil futile. He's good enough to not need facts bent and spun about him.

Yes, the time period when both were playing in the league at the same time. You can't say that Ozil is a better assister just because he has more assists when he's had a head start of two seasons. I could get more prem assists than De Bruyne if I'd played football for 100 years more than him*. Again, Ozil's too good to need spin.

OK... maybe I couldn't because I'm no good.

I think arsenal does need ozil and it looks like if wenger does not make it cushty for him then other teams will do the job for him. I reckon man utd is already tempting for him as mourinho is there but who knows, only time will tell. See how these 'talks' go I guess? Without a doubt he is a great player for arsenal though.
