I agree, City look favourites currently but United, Chelsea and Arsenal could all finish in any of second to fourth. You've then got Palace, Swansea and Spurs vying for fifth with Liverpool and the like behind them.

We do need another striker though, otherwise we have a problem. Keep Wilson and buy Austin, we've got a good mix then.

Basically United have to be better than the best other team in the league to win the title (obviously), so far that teams looks like it will be City.
As already mentioned, Chelsea have been ****e to far, starting terribly, we will get our act together hopefully at some point, but at this stage it looks like City are in the driving seat.
Ditto with Arsenal, they have signed no one and have a manager who has the tactical nous of a used cum rag, so I cannot see them putting a title challenge together, at least not a realistic one.
So City look top for me.
I expect Chelsea and United to be in the top 4, probably with either Arsenal or Liverpool.

LvG needed a striker and a CB if he wanted United to challenge, he didn't get them, so no, I dont think the title is realistic for this season.
Team and manager wise, the only team that could challenge City is probably Chelsea, but I said before a ball was kicked this season, that something didn't seem right in our camp and unless we get our act together RIGHT NOW, it aint happening. I fully expect this to be Jose's last season as Chelsea manager.

You're describing yourself but I am unsure what you are getting at.

Its all a bit pathetic seeing you and a few other gimps trying to be clever with one or two United fans... Who just so happen to be the closest thing to matth on the site. Our very own meltdown brigade.

Yes, I am clearly a Chelsea sycophant <doh>
Look the word up knob jockey.

    Meltdown brigade?
    I would say realists.
Treble maybe a little whiny, but he has a point, and Chief certainly has his head screwed on.

No one is having a meltdown mate, just that they don't all have their tongues firmly implanted inside Louis' ringpiece.

Im not referring to chief. Hes fairly balanced and certainly doesnt go into meltdown.

Realist? <laugh> theres nothing real about looking to criticise the club you support at any opportunity. It clearly shows a lack of understanding in whats happening. A massive rebuild, the likes of which havent been seen for a long time.

I was exactly like Treble and others when Moyes was here. The difference is Moyes wasnt doing the job van gaal is. He didnt have the balls to do it. I was laughed at, despite it being obvious but now treble and the other two who do nothing but moan about everything are seen realists <laugh>

    Couldn't make this **** up.

As far as I can see though (and I cannot claim to speak for Treble), his main concerns seem to be the way Woodward is handling the signings, LvG failure to address the positions that need the most attention (which, bizzarely Jose seems to be guilty of this summer too), and LvG's sometimes pedestrian style of possession football that fails to captivate in ways that previous United teams did.

LvG's answer to having a dodgy defence seems to be to try not let the other team have the ball, so they cannot score.

It HAS worked, but with the team obsessed with keeping possession and sideways passing, you lack any form of cutting edge up front. So it looks as though he is sacrificing any sort of attacking cutting edge to keep the defence safe, which is working in fairness, but you can't get through the season with 0-0 draws hoping the opposition **** up and score you an own goal to get the win.

They seem like legitimate concerns, maybe Treble talks about them too much, and it comes off as whiny.
But you are the other extreme my friend, LvG could literally arse rape you and murder your family and you would still be singing his praises.
Having support THAT unwavering, for a person who hasn't truly earned it (like SAF did) is a little weird.

    Take that back! <laugh>

I have absolutely no problem with fellow fans having a difference of opinion. There are plenty on here who do and I can have a reasoned discussion with anyone. What I DO have a problem with, is someone, who without any provacation, comes on to a thread and the first thing they post is how others are having a meltdown. Why? Bcos they simply offered a balanced opinion that involved criticising mistakes made by the club. Disagree with me all you want but don't fcking question my support <ok>

You were nothing like me when Moyes was here. I've NEVER called for Moyes or Van Gaal to be sacked. And that itself undermines the rest of your statement about me. I wanted Moyes to be given more time but accepted by the end the situation was irretrievable. However had he not been sacked I wouldn't have acted like you. Whether it's Moyes or Van Gaal, I treat them the same - give them credit where it's due and criticism where they deserve it. You lack that consistency and are incapable of understanding that balance whether it's Moyes or Van Gaal. All you've done is simply gone from one extreme to the other.

Have you honestly seen any evidence that we look capable of mounting a challenge?? Based on last season and what we have done so far I genuinely can't see it.

Our football is dull. I'd love to be proven wrong.
