i only know what i have read on various forums about steer, but most comments are positive and that he is a better prospect than rudd, but never having seen him play, this is all i have to go on. from what i have seen of rudd himself, i would have no concerns if he had to come into the first team.
Back up would be good but i would start the season with Ruddy as our number 1.... He earned his place last season....
That Japanese girl played a blinder in yesterday's world cup final. Maybe she'd be worth a contract. Her first penalty save was unbelievable
The advantage with Rudd and Steer being backups is that they will not count towards the squad of 25 as they are both under 21. An experienced back up would count and so another outfield player will have to left out.
Ive got a feeling lambert is quite content with the goalkeepers we have! Same as are RB cover, we have so many players who are versatile do we need to waste more wages on players? I can understand the cause for concern of the fact that our current cover in the positions are young and not much first team action under there belts but lambert awarded these guys new contracts for a reason, there the future and they need to start somewhere...
After the other day Rudd impressed me a lot. Obviously he didn't have a lot to do but he looked confident, a lot bigger (they are bulking him up) and he commanded from the back very effectively. I really want a season long quality loan deal for the lad I'm well up for developing him. You can see he's good. Future Norwich no1. That probably requires a backup of some description for ruddy but I go with what lambert says.
