Somehow I don't think Tony or Amit would bail on any debt that they'd created in there dealings at the club. I think they have more honor than that.
How could I forget the most populous continent on earth and out connections with it? Good call Eamon, I think I need some strong coffee to wake myself up.....
I believe Flav was pretty ruthless, still have to back it up with some business acumen. Thankfully I think we're more than covered there with Amit, Tony and Phil Beard. Damn things are starting to fall in to place, now if we can only survive this season....
They could sell on to owners who don't...Isn't that pretty much what happened at Portsmouth? Don't want to be a downer, just looking at the other side of the coin
Agreed, if we are going to go onwards and upwards then we may not like the consequences as regards our lovely little club. If we want to play with the big boys in this league then we are going to have accept that certain things must change. We must remain loyal to some of our key values though, with priority always given to the clubs fans (sounds idealistic i know). Also agree that we must stay up this year. Would love to think that the Mittals are behind the seemingly large financial outlay coming in the next few weeks. For the first time in many many years it really does look like we have professional businessmen running our club. Many of us might just be too cautious considering the muppets and clowns that we had running our club over the last number of year. Prehaps its time that we all put a smile on our faces and just believe that all this might be more than just a fairytale.
Well said Nuts, (nice to see you back?) It was on the cards that this move had been planed awhile ago by the boys at the top! But did NW know, if he did then he let us all down.
Again in a nut shell! Well said LoneRanger. See we do have some very bright fans after all! I must say some of the newbies are not up to much just yet but sure they will learn in good time.
In answer to the Young man called Londonsfinest, I suggest he reads his clubs history and find out how his team cheated all that time back when his team and ours were in the southern league? Then he will see who was the best team.
Some great stuff on this thread and well done to Nuts and others for such good input. What I take from all this is the fact that relegation WILL be a disaster for our club as the Board are clearly on a time driven mission. They may well walk away if there is a big unexpected hiccup in the project. In short, it's sh*t or bust time for QPR.
Having owned a company in the building trade be fore i retried , I can assure you that one has to be ruthless to stay in the game, so a good one there hoopton!
Interesting stuff on this thread. Sure TF is ruthless, with his track record (RyanAir of Asia and more) I would be very surprised if he wasn't. It's hard to know exactly how real money is made from a football club, but I think the biggest factor must be the PR a PL football club gives other business the world over, for us in Asia. So, staying in the PL is of course top priority, if we don't it will mean a paramount need to return immediately. At the same time, same as the guys that run RyanAir, revenue streams at our Club need to be maximed, so we need again the PL and a bigger income earning stadium. Also expense has to trimmed at every corner where it isn't giving a return, so I do expect a downsizing of our oversizedsquad at the earliest opportunity. A big gamble was made in replacing NW with MH. I am afraid it was the wrong decision, but hope like hell it wasn't. The next 4 months are really important for QPR, but then aren't they always! If we go down then the next 12 months will be even more important!
Have only just seen this article....great post Nuts! As Amit has said that money will be coming from the Directors' personal funds, I'm not too worried that we are going to become the next Portsmouth, although I wouldn't rule it out all together from the back of my mind! If the Mittals are putting up funds for transfers and wages etc then all the possibilities being discussed are a mere drop in the ocean for their 30 billion pound fortune. I also suspect that the Mittals may eventually be in overall control within a few years. Also, a new ground with added on conference facilities etc will be seen as an investment and a way to claw money back. For the next few months, all that matters is that the club stay up, because if they don't, all the grand plans will be on hold and then anything could happen!!
Everytime i see this thread i think of this clip and the way Mullet pronounces Tony, absolute legend!
