Most fouls are accidental. They aren't even trying to gain an advantage.

I don't have a problem with them anyway, its the deceiving the ref that is the worst problem in football. If you foul, you give a way a fk, that's fair enough band is totally different to trying to cheat your way to an undeserved red card or penalty.

Its so bad now that they appeal for every dead ball situation too even when they know its not their ball.

Actually, all that holding onto forwards when defending a corner - you know, the stuff that NEVER gets given as a penalty - is definitely trying to get an advantage by preventing the attackers getting a clean header on goal. And yet it's not punished. I've seen more of that this tournament than I can remember.

From the games I have seen I thought the Referees were generally good, but then I saw the Ref in Hollands game not give Robben a Yellow even when he saw that Robben very clearly dived, and Robben then dove again to win the pen and the match. Robben admited to diving when many on here were saying he should have had a pen first half. So while the Ref screwed up, I think as usual they have a really hard job with Diving. But for me Diving in the Penalty area when very clear to the Ref should be dealt with by a Red card - Robbens first dive 2nd half was very clear, and a red card would have stopped at least him doing it again and giving Holland a win they cheated themselves to.

I was confused in that game. Robben dived, then the referee waved play on because Mexico had possession.

The only reason he could have waved play on is if he was going to give a yellow card to Robben. You can't stop play for a dive and only give a free kick. If a dive is acknowledged it has to be yellow. Otherwise you ignore it altogether. He never went back and gave the card.
