Maybe we've all been caught out by the stadiums acoustics? But I'm still not happy with my own fans singing "where were you when we were ****" and pointing towards me? Everyones getting frustrated by the silly twats comments but as the thread says if he gets us arguing he's won! There are some happy clappers near me but if that's what they want to do and sit and watch quietly that's fine! I only got my passes there in 2006 because my kids were young and I didn't want them having someone shouting **** in their ears every five minutes! But don't think everyone in the west is against the NO campaign! But it is full of players families and corporates so I'm sure there will be AA sympathisers. Rant over!
I sit in upper west.. and the booing seem to come from south stand and btw we are not all pathetic old ****ers who sit in upper west!
Was in s1 it definitely started from east stand. Ending with a few angry words at the top of south stand Egyptian links maybe http://www1.skysports.com/football/...-mohamed-farag-amer-wants-to-buy-english-club
Very strange event last night, we are in the North Stand and when 19.04 came and the now regular chant started a father and his about 18 yr old son started to boo, obviously supporters of name change (up to them) However 2 mins later Hernandez scores and the lad is on his feet chanting City, City. Dozy twat.
It's odd how everybody suggests it came from somewhere else. We sure it wasn't from the music system with one or two joining in.
I thought most of it was near me in the West. Individuals easily identified by having a quick look round.
“What win I, if I gain the thing I seek? A dream, a breath, a froth of fleeting joy. Who buys a minute's mirth to wail a week? Or sells eternity to get a toy? For one sweet grape who will the vine destroy? Or what fond beggar, but to touch the crown, Would with the sceptre straight be strucken down?”
The booing was piped in through the PA. Allam used a recording from an Arsenal home match. You all fell for it. Cunning move Dr Allam, cunning move indeed.
No-one has mentioned the better rendering of 'Caravan of Love' just before kick off ? I thought it worked and was far better then Wise Men Say. And going back to the booing. I think we should leave it now because this will turn into a civil war and CTID will finish up with the blame. If the owners want to continue with this name change through the courts then let them have their day. If the case is flawed then it will die a natural death. If they put up a cast iron case with some financial facts and figures and not fairy tales or wishful thinking, then perhaps they are right? I don't agree but let's see what the appeal court says about it. They will have to come up with a lot more new evidence to get the FA to change their minds. Because if a Premier League club is allowed to change their traditional name then the door is kicked wide open for all sorts of abuses. IMO it will not happen. My fear is that the small outbreak of dissent on Monday will be picked up by the media and blown out of all proportion. It could also snowball into a full blown distraction just when we seemed to be getting somewhere with improving the atmosphere at the KC and we have several new players to bed in and a long season in front of us with no one doing us any favours. I'm with Steve Bruce, we should all be 100% behind the team and let the off field politics sort themselves out at the appeal court.
One of the things i hated was the loyal supporters chant, how pointless. The first season i went to Hull City the average attendance was 3,413 and my first year as a season ticket holder was 4,864 so clearly taking into account 10% for away fans the majority of the crowd last night are fair weather supporters. So really half of those who are members of CTWD where also not there 'when we where ****'. I am certain some of those who boo'd where not premier league fans only. I just don't get the logic behind boo'ing, singing CTWD is not putting the team off, boo'ing CTWD is putting them off..... Great logic guys.
We can't let the name change cowards bully us into not singing our club's name though. At Newcastle it'll be as loud as ever and none of those twats will be there. Wonderful. If people continue booing then they are to blame and no one else.
No-one is suggesting we stop singing our club's name. The day we do is the day I throw the towel in. My point is the chant at 19.04 is now seen as a battle cry. So change it. Try something a bit more original. I'd like to hear the silent majority booing a rousing chorus of HULL CITY FC, By Far The Greatest Team........etc at 19.04.
How about, to the tune of She'll be Coming Round the Mountain: 'You can stick your Hull Tigers up your a**e' (rhymes with the way they pronounce grass down south) etc Followed by 'Singing I love City Till I Die' And rather than 'We say no Allam' just a nice factual 'The FA said NO Allam, the FA said No'
