Tonight I did a whopping bowl of chilli beef with bunions, peppers, mushyrooms and tommy-arters and had tacos with Ubers Minor and Major whilst Lil’ Uberette had a Pot Noodle (don’t ask).

I’m now working my way to the bottom of a bottle of Barefoot Sauvignon Blanc.

Another vegetarian feast, roast melanzane/aubergine, with mozzarella and parmigiana, in an olive oil, lemon juice & zest, fresh chilli and flat leaf parsley dressing. Very tasty with a flatbread.

Traditional lamb roast tomorrow and I plan to drink a variety of red wine, so booze free tonight.

Supported a local take away....local pub has joined up with a local pizza restaurant, been doing it for last year or so but although pub is closed at present pizza place still opens Friday and Saturday for take always......very tasty as well....

We'd gone through most of the bottle of picpaul de pinet prior to eating as it's been the most glorious day here....with the lack of noise pollution we just sat in the garden soaking up the sun listening to the bird song.....pure bliss...

Vegan burgers with sweet potato fries.

Tomorrow will be a vegan slow cooker rammed with goodies and lots of red wine.

Just a couple of bottles of Peroni tonight,

Very good, it goes down nice and easy. I thought it would be a full-bodied wine for some reason. I would describe it as smooth and light. I would like to offer more but I can't pretend to be a wine aficionado. If I like it I like it, and if I don't, kinda thing.

Roast topside of beef just going in.

If you want heavy try an old vine garnacha wine, can be got very reasonably and at 14.5% it’s not far off a port.

Now you’ve had the Barolo try a Brunello Di Montalcino, but this is a special occasion wine from Tuscany, heavier and just about my favourite. A good bottle £30 and up.

And that is the extent of my wine knowledge.

Sounds like it would go well with a nice cheese. I'll look out for a bottle.

My problem with port is that it seems churlish not to finish the bottle once it is opened. Douro red wine, from the port region, can be very tasty too.
