That roll will have more protein than whatever synthetic nonsense Optimum Nutrition are flogging. And it is a roll. Not a bap/cob/barm or whatever bumpkins call it. This is the hill I’ll die on after we miss sixth on goal difference.
Tonight I will be having whatever I want from the pub menu Woo hoo Just got back from the pub and the eldest is popping over and no one can be bothered cooking so back to the pub it is
Sunny sunday breakfast - Avocado and Egg Toast. Sourdough toast spread with a mayonnaise, hot sauce, cayenne pepper, chilli powder and paprika mixture then covered with a layer of mashed avocado and lemon juice. Topped with grated hard-boiled eggs and a drizzle of warm honey and finished with a sprinkle of fresh parsley and sea salt. This is a banger! Simple but tasty, the honey cuts through the pleasant heat of the sauce nicely.
Bank holiday dinner. Mexican Pork Carnitas with Pineapple Salsa. Pork slow-cooked for 3 hours in stock and orange juice along with white onion, coriander and fennel seeds, ground cumin and bay leaves then shredded and dry-fried to crisp it up. Layed on warm tortillas and then topped with a salsa of fresh pineapple, red onion, red chilli, mint and coriander leaves, lime zest and juice. Served with home-made pickled pink onions, guacamole, extra coriander and a nice cold Dr Pepper.
Pad Thai. Prawn, noodles, carrots, onions, spring onions, peanut butter, soy, garlic.. Absolutely stunning.
Chicken Donburi... Chicken in teriyaki sauce, sticky rice, edamame beans and peashoots, topped with a fried egg and sesame seeds

I'm in the Plough Inn in McDuff.... As grim as it sounds, looks like a rough man-cave, but the pool table is 50p a go, and it's £4 a pint for Cruzcampo...advertised 'Karaoke 9 til late' which sent a shudder down my back, but there's five people in here including the two of us and the landlady so hopefully it'll be bearable. The chippy round the corner was absolute cracking, fish straight off the boat in the harbour, only £12... Edit....we're in to double figures....just
