Had a pretty heavy session over the weekemd, staying up in Glasgow for a couple of nights, so decided to sample a couple of new restaurants. Saturday night went to Bibimbap a Korean restaurant.- no idea if it's a chain but first time I've ever eaten Korean food. Was just hoping there wasn't any dog on the menu!

Had Pork Kimchi starter with a soy based dip, very similar to chinese dumplings and very tasty followed by a huge portion of Korean Fried Chicken, deep in a very light, almost sweet batter alongside a spicy Yum Yum sauce - lush.

Sunday night we hit Halloumi, a new Greek meze restaurant in the city centre. Fabulous. Huge portions of humous and tahini with flatbreads, chicken souvlaki, spetsofai (spicy sausage in tomato based sauce), stiffado (beef and shallot stew) and keftedes (lamb meatballs). Tastiest meal I've had for a long time, although I had been drinking for several hours beforehand! Will definately be going back there

:emoticon-0159-music It's beginning to look a lot like christmas :emoticon-0159-music

Not what I'm eating tonight, but as a cheese-aholic, I always stock up on a nice selection for chrimbo.

    Screenshot_20211214-170033_Gallery.jpg

Plenty of biscuits, pickled onions, chutneys and a nice port to go with -

    A nice Charcoal cheddar.

A 20 month matured, vintage reserved barbers cheddar.

    A lovely Mature blue Stilton.

    Snowdonia Black bomber mature cheddar.

Harlechs Welsh cheddar with horseradish and parsley.

A Welsh cheddar with chili and tomato.

Chilli and lime aged red leicester.

A cracking little Pave d'affinois cremeux.

And a Spiced honey and rum yorkshire wensleydale.

    Let the festivities begin <cracker>

Served with home-made skin-on fries and sour cream. (And a nice white wine)

How come your poncing it in those two places mate?

If I'd had a bit more notice you probably actually could have dropped in for tea! I'm literally 15 minutes away.

Pity you weren't down here for the Cov game in a few weeks.
