Only 1 i have ever got near to "hating" is Diouf who was a truly loathsome excuse for a human being. There are any number of players i wished we hadn't bought for a variety of reasons but personal hate nope. Karius i just feel sorry for though i don't & never have thought he was anywhere near being a good GK
What is a good GK? Not a top rated GK I can understand but when he's voted second only to Neuer by players in the German league, no matter how big a drop off there is after the top few teams, then there has to be something inherently good going on. He's had an auspicious career since he was a kid. He had an unfortunate start with us, possibly created by the expectation, which got the media on his back and he was benched, maybe rightly, but he fought for his place and earned it back. None of the ten top rated GKs in the world were in the CL final. Would you rather have gone out earlier with one of them? He was good enough to get us to the final. That'll do for me.
For me. 1. When I looked at him on vids when we signed him he looked busy cos he played for an average side but he dropped a **** ton of stuff right out in front of goal. 2. When I saw him warm up when mingolet was playing he was absolutely lax and not bothered. I wasn't impressed with him getting a game face on there. 3.he looked dodgy as **** when he played first and that lead to mingolet coming bav k in. So really whats changed? What do we know for certain? Well when I have seen him warm up lately it's been better because he is playing, but is thst showing us he has changed attitude. I don't know for sure. He is still Palming stuff right out in front of himself. He seems to have little to no awareness of who should receive a quick ball or danger around him. So no not a good keeper imo. Good keepers do the basics well and are reliable.they don't necessarily make great saves.
Is that how it works then? Have a top ten keeper and get eliminated early? Agree with the point you're making though
