Would of made sense if after the first warning they warned again that they would take it off them if they continued.
Problem is when something is so pathetic as this, people carry on regardless of a warning, thinking that it's laughable. If the club want to ban drumming then don't let drums into the stand. It's not as if you can conceal one up your jumper!!! It's then dealt with quickly and effectively without alienating groups of fans and possibly causing trouble. The number of times i've been to away matches where over zealous stewards that have double standards, get a kick out of being heavy handed. Shrewsbury still have some way to catch up with Stockports nazi regime, but sounds as if they are trying hard to match it. Why oh why can't we just have some common sense stewarding. Bradford for example were friendly and basically said that if we sat for the first few minutes then they would turn a blind eye to us standing later (as long as we were at the back at and not disrupting anyones view).
Cheltenham were the best stewards, having a *** with us at half time and telling us to give more sh*t to a young minority of cheltenham fans who no one liked, not even their own fans! Worst - definitely Stockport, telling us to sit down when their own fans were standing and excusing that by saying, " I dont care, I dont look after that stand!"
What is all this about stewards. We never had them at Loakes Park as far as I remember (a few police maybe) and we had bigger crowds during the good times. This seems like a classic case of some jumped up twits trying to justify their existence and/or it being there only opportunity in life to be able to assert authority. Someone should construct a report on the stewarding and submit to some committee that can give stewards of all teams a rating and publish a popularity table.
if we did that ron stockport would finish bottom of that league as well, they would create history for getting relegated in the same season twice
Our council and various other governing bodies were quite picky at the start and I think there are still checks on the stewarding of fans. They gave up asking people to sit down only this season, but there are still announcements asking for no flash photography!!
when we get our new white elephant ground we will probably get grief from our own stewards cos we are used to the terrace and hate sitting down at games
To be honest Drums at Football matches are **** anyway and the should be banned from all games. Especially that poxy England Band!! They ruin people actually singing chants/songs and drown out the words of good chants. So people don't bother singing therefore the purpose of them being there in the first place is null and void. You would never here of a drummer in the Kop, The Park Lane or the Holte End! And most people who play them over hit them or can't hold a rhythm!
“The noise of the crowd, the singing and the chanting, is the oxygen we players breathe.” - Danny Blanchflower
