So, we knock off a figure of 10,000 for Wednesday plastics. We were getting 16,000 for home games and took 26,000. Presumably they weren't plastics but dyed in the wool fanatics,so,we don't knock any of them off the total? How many of the FC fans would have gone if FC hasn't been playing? There was a handful of Rovers fans venturing abroad. The figures weren't comparable. Plymouth, a slightly smaller city than Hull, took 34,000. The question is why do the crowds turn out for other cities, hoping the city's team gets promoted, and yes, for a day out at Wembley, but we seem to have a disconnect between the club and the people of the city.?
Try comparing it to the last equivalent season immediately after PL relegation. That was 2010-11. We were **** for half that season. 21st at one point. Didn't get a crowd below 19,000.
Owlstalk is just comedy gold. Apparently they won something better than promotion at Wembley, togetherness. **** me they are a deluded bunch of what appears to be 14 year old boys.
"Wednesday fans have always been the same, this is nothing new. We are an entirely different breed, unique and will never be matched."
I think my favourite post ive read on that board - nay any board - was the one under the title "what are you most looking forward to about promotion?" and the very firsty response being "seeing Hillsborough on FIFA". If Hat had posted it I'd think it was an amusing gag, but the fact that they were serious makes it even better.
