Freeman Dyson calculated all the atoms in the sun when he was 5 years old.. he's 90 now and doing this physics stuff all his life, he also says it is bollocks.

Do you know what the fudge factor is or will you have to look it up? ;) It doesn't account for saturation and doesn't represent a mechanism, it is just a bunch of equations which can be adjusted at will and given desired weight in the models, yet the actual atmosphere is not a simplistic bunch of equations, it's unmodelable.. cos you know we cant get weather right more than 4 days ahead and you belive we can predict 100 years ahead <laugh> All the proof of NASA temperature tampering is in the DM thread. NASA admit most temeprature increases are adjustments and estimations NOT measurements of gound stations, satellites say no global warming. For example in Texas they had raw data from the station yet esitmated temps from March to December.. and all the adjustments were made to the estimated data.

there have been nearly 4000 data sets removed from the global record, no doubt cos they were "too cold" and instead estimated temps are used. Go figure. Of course you know NASA are only 38% certain of their fudged numbers dont you..

1) We have data mapped from all over the world that shows that temperature has been rising.

2) We have satellites that measure ocean levels and have proof that they are rising.

3) We have instruments that can detect gasses and composition of the air and known greenhouse gas compositions have been rising.

4) We can look at bubbles in frozen ice that are like little time capsules that show us what the air was like when frozen into arctic ice going back hundreds of years.

5) With very few exceptions (and most of those funded by "surprise surprise" the oil giant Russians and the Koch brothers... No agenda with those folks) scientists and almost every study has shown that global warming is happening and the almost certain cause is man.

Talking of deniers and conspiracy theories, I get to meet Jim Lovell in Ponty Carlo on Sunday! I'll try and publish the photos if my snotty cold sore has gone down. Christ, Lovell's now in his mid-80'sand in England in November - I doubt they'll let him stand next to a scruffy Scouser with a cold! Sadly, I'll be wearing my Apollo13 t-shirt, NASA baseball cap and Gemini 7 badge. I am like one of those middle-aged ****s who turn up in Sgt Pepper outfits for Beatle conventions, or dressed as a cyberman in Comicon meetings.

Pay for another one on the day for next April that we believe will be Aldrin or Bean. Sweet. If they live that long, of course....

I'll see if any of them have any debunking graphs for this column, but It was only a decade ago that 5'8", 70 year old Buzz Aldrin laid out 6'2", 30-odd year old Bart Sibrel when he aggressively pestered him about 'fake' moon-landing evidence, so I'll tread warily with Dr Rendezvous.

You can't make spurious statements and then run off, you replied with some stuff which I will reply to. It's hardly a stupid topic.

1) We have data mapped from all over the world that shows that temperature has been rising.
False, there are 1500 stations globally, with vitrually none in greenland the arctic and the antarctic and most of the southern hempisphere, it being an ocean, with literally massive gaps in Russia India China Africa Australia as well as over nothern hemisphere oceans. Most of the global surface record is "estimated" not measured and also a fact, that many measurements are ignored and estimated temperatures used in place of actual data, any fool can confirm this from NASA's own site.

Satellites is the second way, and the satellite data shows no warming trend in 18 years. Actual measurement, not estimations and "adjustments".
