Marko, Borough 1 up now. If Birmingham beat Donny later this week, we are 5 points out of 6th with 2 teams 3 points ahead of us in between.

Nothing is impossible, but my playoff plans do not include seeing us in them. :-(

Boro back level and Hull 2-0 down. Leicester being held but Palace beating Donny.

Not too bothered about Palace. If we go on the run we need to go on to get into the playoffs, Palace aren't an issue. Provided Leicester lose or draw, things are going well, just need Ipswich to snatch a winner.

On another note, anyone noticed the obscene discounts on the home shirts? Club is panicking because they can't sell ****.

Ipswich win would have been slightly better, but take what you can get in these desperate times. Win against Watford and suddenly the playoffs won't look so far away.

Not too bad tonight, Ipswich equalizer was huge, MATEY! <cheers>

Having said that, we are still 3 points behind 3 teams, all with better GD and, after Friday, may well be 5 points back of 6th.

Chances are "Slim" and "None" should be showing up soon.

    <sorry>

    Just being a realist...

I would be delighted as anyone if it happened.

I like to be positive but realistic too. Its much better going to a game if you still think you can go up!

to be honest i gave up on the season after the Southampton loss, just nice to support the club and focus on winning, hopefully if that happens then teams ahead could slip up and maybe could slip into the play offs, MOT

I read what you have written and understand what you are thinking.

I look forward to every game I can see/watch on tv or online regardless of where we are or what our prospects are.

Best way to do it is to be positive, get your hopes up, expect. If you expect, we can't lose. Let me explain the three scenarios of having high hopes, a positive outlook and keeping a level of expectancy:

    1. We expect, and we make it into the playoffs, great. We've got a shot of promotion. We then expect to go up, and we make it, great. Everybody wins.
    2. We expect, and we make it into the playoffs, great. We've got a shot of promotion. We then expect to go up, and fail, we'll all be bummed. Angry and disappointed at ourselves for hoping a team that's not good enough would go up, we'll then turn back to "the team wasn't good enough". Anger and disappointment will turn into resentment of the board that put building a team as a low priority, resulting in our team not being good enough in the first place, and resentment of the same board that refused to draw up a long term plan, resulting in a team that's constantly having to start from scratch, with the club cashing in on our best talent.
    3. We expect, and fall at the last hurdle, we've either stagnated, or gone backwards. See above for how the anger, disappointment and resentment builds up and is ultimately aimed at the board.

These negative emotions breed discontent, discontent leads to protest, protest will ultimately lead to the cancer being removed from our club, whether it's through lack of income streams meaning it's no longer profitable, through being forced out by some larger entity, or through the stress causing bates to have a heart attack or stroke or aneurysm or something. I'm hoping for the last one.

Always expect the unexpected with LUFC! :)

There's still not a chance in hell we'll make the playoffs with the run-in we've got, but I hope we're as loud as we were at the West Ham and Southampton games when we play Watford. Can't allow another Forest result to hit us - these players need backing.
