    No mate, you got short shrift because of your "double meaning" statements, and for mocking our time in Europe FFS. Any red and whites who go on our (I say "our" ~ I don't use it much) don't get too much grief apart from the usual idiots, but you crossed the line a bit?

    The offending statement was nothing but complimentary meant to be taken at face value. It is hardly my fault if people go looking for something that isn't there.

    And to claim the Inter-cities Fairs Cup and Intertoto as major European honours- bahahahaha. And no before you say, that is not in comparison to our record in Europe!

    Shrine? That's actually appropriate as your club may as well be dead mate ;)

    It's still there, wobbling under the weight of it's lopsided roof, depriving Leazes Park of natural light, and generally destroying my citywide vista....

    You alright pal?

    Perfect partner for sissy

    @WhoScored
    Bafétimbi Gomis: Only Antonio Di Natale (70) was caught offside more times in Europe's top 5 leagues last season than Gomis (62)

    I saw a lot of Gomis when I was out in Lyon last year, and he's one of the most frustrating players I've ever seen. He can be unstoppable and Drogba-esque one week and spend half the game falling over his own feet the next. Could be a decent signing for them, but if I was a Mag I'd rather they'd have gone for Remy.

    Think Remy is still on, although I did just hear it was off from a gobshite source.

    Can't keep up, ha.

    That could be a pretty potent strikeforce, though surely Cisse will be on his way if that's the case. At least if they sign Remy it means they can't have a go at us for some of Titus's off the pitch activities...

    If they gain Remy and lose Cisse they are massively improved.

    TBF that could describe Drogba in the earlier portion of his career. Consistency is what makes a great player.

    I'd say the true value was £4-5m given his contract length.
    I also agree that Lyon have chanced their arm a bit on the fee but we can afford a luxury from time to time given Mr Carr's successful bargain hunting to date.
    Just hope it doesn't become a habit as I genuinely don't want to see us throwing big bucks around like the bad old days.
