Carra did as much to win Istanbul as Gerrard did, imo, and I totally admire him, in the same way I admire Phil Neville and Phil Neal, for taking their talents as far as they could and deserving their caps, careers and trophies. Diouf had more 'natural' talent than any of them. What did he do with his career?

I'm reminded of Lee Sharp sneering at the memory of Phil Neville practising his throw-ins for hours and hours in the gym whilst he went off to the pub with his mates. Sharp was up there with Giggs, I think, but shat the lot with his attitude. Diouf, though not being nearly as talented as Sharpe, is somehow ten times again more arrogant. And all this based on one good World Cup, when his main impact was really being unknown.

To think we passed up on Anelka, who was proven and doing his stuff in the Prem, to buy that Malteser-headed turd. I think that's what vexes SG most.
